A second biopsy? – Tandem lesion

Acta Neurochirurgica, 2008
This is a rare case of synchronous pituitary adenoma and PNET in an adult and first of this sort in the literature. The MR appearances suggest a single pathological entity causing the changes in the different anatomical location which can occur in cases of germ cell tumours, PNET and glioblastoma.

Tandem lesion' coronary angioplasty

Coronary Artery Disease, 1995
To evaluate the acute and long-term results of 'tandem lesion' coronary angioplasty in the left anterior descending artery, and to identify the determinants of restenosis.A retrospective analysis of clinical, angiographic, and procedure-related variables was carried out on a consecutive series of 102 patients (mean age 54 years, range 34-71 years; 77 ...

Coronary tandem lesions: Effect of exercise

American Heart Journal, 1992
Coronary vasomotion of two stenoses in series (i.e., tandem lesion) was studied in 10 patients with coronary artery disease. Percent area stenosis was 69% +/- 23% for the first (S1) lesion and 70% +/- 37% for the second (S2). Quantitative coronary arteriography was carried out at rest, during two levels of exercise (2 minutes, 75 W and 1.9 minutes, 100

Double Eversion Carotid Endarterectomy of Tandem Carotid Lesions

Annals of Vascular Surgery, 2014
We describe an original method to treat tandem lesions of the internal carotid artery (ICA) and the common carotid artery (CCA). In this manuscript, we describe a "double eversion carotid endarterectomy" technique (DECE) and report our results.A retrospective review in the medical records of patients that underwent DECE over a 15-year period was ...

Treatment of tandem lesions of the extracranial carotid artery

Neurosurgery, 1984
Abstract The authors present a patient with bihemispheric transient ischemic attacks attributed to stenosis of the left common carotid origin and stenosis and ulceration of the left cervical internal carotid artery. Because of precarious cerebral blood supply secondary to occlusions of the right common carotid and left vertebral arteries,

Intravenous thrombolysis before endovascular treatment versus endovascular treatment alone for patients with large vessel occlusion and carotid tandem lesions: individual participant data meta-analysis of six randomised trials

Lancet Neurology
BACKGROUND For patients with large vessel occlusion and carotid tandem lesions, the best treatment approach is not clear. Intravenous thrombolysis in addition to endovascular treatment might increase the risk of intracranial haemorrhage and decrease ...

[Endovascular treatment in cerebral artery tandem lesions].

Beijing da xue xue bao. Yi xue ban = Journal of Peking University. Health sciences, 2016
To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of endovascular treatment in solving symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions. From June 2012 to February 2014, 12 cases (24 lesions) with symptomatic cerebral artery tandem lesions were accepted for the endovascular treatment.

Oxidatively generated complex DNA damage: Tandem and clustered lesions

Cancer Letters, 2012
There is an increasing interest for oxidatively generated complex lesions that are potentially more detrimental than single oxidized nucleobases. In this survey, the recently available information on the formation and processing of several classes of complex DNA damage formed upon one radical hit including mostly hydroxyl radical and one-electron ...

Rheological significance of tandem lesions of the coronary artery

Heart and Vessels, 1995
It is not known whether the individual lesions that constitute tandem lesions of the coronary artery are developmentally or rheologically related. Luminal changes and their rheological significance were examined by percutaneous angioscopy in 44 tandem lesions of 21 patients with ischemic heart disease.

Cervical Dissection in Patients With Tandem Lesions Is Associated With Distal Embolism and Lower Recanalization Success

Stroke
BACKGROUND: Tandem lesions consist of cervical internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis or occlusion, most commonly of atherosclerosis or dissection etiology, plus a large vessel occlusion.
