Topological Point Defects in SmC* Liquid Crystals Under Mechanical Disturbance
Advanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.Tangetial air jet shear inducess island formation and nucleates topological point defects in uniform SmC films. Island bounded by edge dislocation loops shrink and transform into isolated point defects under continued shear. Mechanical perturbatio provides a controllable route for defect engineering in smectric liquid crystal thin films.

Two‐Way Shape Memory Polymer Composite Gripper for Adaptive Robotic Applications
Advanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.A two‐way shape memory polymer (SMP) composite is developed with intrinsic shape‐changing capability driven solely by temperature, eliminating external actuation loads. Embedding the SMP in a low‐stiffness elastomeric matrix enabled reversible transformations during heating and cooling cycles.

Applied Mathematical Sciences, 2014 Our aim in this paper is to obtain symmetric properties for Carlitz’s q-tangent polynomials. We are going to find a symmetric identity for q-tangent zeta function. From property of the q-tangent zeta function, we derive some symmetric properties of Carlitz’s q-tangent polynomials.
