Microtubule Inhibitors Induce Cross-Resistance to Osimertinib Through CaMKII Activation in EGFR-Mutated NSCLC. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Sci
Eighteen‐week treatment with microtubule inhibitors induces resistance to osimertinib in EGFR‐mutated NSCLC cells. Vinorelbine‐ and paclitaxel‐resistant cells showed activation of FZD7 and CaMKII and increased sensitivity to CaMKII inhibition, with additive or synergistic effects when combined with osimertinib.

Acquired MTAP Loss Following Entrectinib Resistance in ROS1-Rearranged NSCLC With CD74 Exon 3-ROS1 Exon 34 Fusion. [PDF]

open access: yesThorac Cancer
This case highlights acquired MTAP loss during disease progression in ROS1‐rearranged NSCLC. Despite persistent CD74–ROS1 fusion and absence of known resistance mutations, the patient developed CNS progression after entrectinib, underscoring the value of longitudinal genomic profiling in guiding treatment decisions.

Impact of TP53, KRAS, and APC Mutations on Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Outcomes in Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Sci
Genetic profiling of TP53, KRAS, and APC mutations reveals potential as predictors of neoadjuvant chemotherapy efficacy in locally advanced rectal cancer, aiding personalized treatment strategies to improve survival and reduce recurrence risks. ABSTRACT Despite recent advances in neoadjuvant strategies for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), optimal

Successful Identification and Treatment of Cancer of Unknown Primary Originating From Gastric Cancer Using Comprehensive Genomic Profiling and Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy: A Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Rep (Hoboken)
ABSTRACT Background Cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is a challenging malignancy characterized by metastatic tumors with an unidentified primary site, even after extensive pathological and radiographic evaluation. Recent advancements in gene expression profiling and comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) using next‐generation sequencing (NGS) have ...

Diffuse Hemispheric Glioma, H3 G34-Mutant With Prominent Perivascular Invasion in a Middle-Aged Man: A Case Report and Literature Review of Middle-Aged and Elderly Cases. [PDF]

open access: yesNeuropathology
ABSTRACT Diffuse hemispheric glioma, H3 G34‐mutant (DHG), is a newly defined pediatric‐type tumor in the 2021 WHO classification of central nervous system (CNS) tumors. DHGs harbor missense mutations at codon 35 of H3F3A (H3.3 G35R/V mutations) and exhibit diverse histopathological features, such as glioblastomas or CNS embryonal tumors.

Pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The current paradigm for the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is that chronic airflow limitation results from an abnormal inflammatory response to inhaled particles and gases in the lung. Airspace inflammation appears to be different

Solanoeclepin C, a root-secreted molecule converted by rhizosphere microbes to hatching factors for potato cyst nematodes. [PDF]

open access: yesNew Phytol
Summary Eclepins are root‐secreted compounds that induce the hatching of cyst nematodes. Solanoeclepin A (SEA) and B (SEB) have been isolated as potent hatching factors for potato cyst nematodes (PCNs). SEB is biosynthesized in roots, released into the rhizosphere, and converted into SEA by soil microorganisms.

Taninos: uma abordagem da química à ecologia [PDF]

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2005
Tannins are compounds of great interest in chemistry and ecology. They have various effects on food digestibility and the performance of animals. In this work, the chemistry, the biological activity and the ecology of tannins are examined. A brief discussion of several analytical methods for the determination of tannins is presented.
