Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Numerical Investigation of Raman-Assisted Four-Wave Mixing in Tapered Fiber Raman Fiber Amplifier
The generation of unwanted higher-order Raman effects is the main factor restricting the power scaling of Raman fiber amplifiers (RFAs). This phenomenon arises from an interplay of physical processes, including stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), four ...

On-chip optical fiber-to-nanophotonic waveguide adiabatic coupler [PDF]
We report a simple design of an on-chip optical fiber-to-nanophotonic waveguide adiabatic coupler. An inverse-tapered waveguide can be fabricated on an etched oxide layer to achieve index-crossing with a tapered optical fiber without severe light leakage

Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.

3D Printing Technology for Tapered Optical Fiber Protection With Gas Sensing Possibilities
We present a new procedure for protecting micro-optical fibers (tapered fibers) by using the 3-dimension (3D) printing technology. A standard single-mode optical fiber was tapered down to the diameter of 1 µm and embedded in a polymeric matrix obtained ...

This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...
