Clade III Synthases Add Cyclic And Linear Terpenoids To The Psilocybe Metabolome

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Psilocybe “magic mushrooms” are best known for their indolethylamine psilocybin, yet they encode enzymes for a much more diverse arsenal of small and potentially bioactive molecules. Here, we report on four Psilocybe cubensis clade III sesquiterpene synthases, CubB‐CubE, whose genes are differently expressed in fruiting bodies compared to vegetative ...

Rapid purification of high-activityTaqDNA polymerase

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1993
The method described here is derived from that of Engelke et al. (1), and uses the same cloned form of Thermus aquaticus {Taq) DNA polymerase to produce this enzyme in E.coli. The modified purification method described here is quite simple, however it is important to note that factors such as the bacterial strain used, induction time and protein ...

Engineered Exosome‐Based Senolytic Therapy Alleviates Stroke by Targeting p21+CD86+ Microglia

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
We identified a harmful immune cell type, p21+CD86+ microglia, driving post‐stroke inflammation and developed a targeted exosome‐based therapy (Que@micro‐Exo) to eliminate these cells. This innovative treatment reduced inflammation, alleviated brain damage, and improved recovery in stroke models, offering a promising strategy for stroke and other ...

The RNA Binding Protein Bcas2 is Required for Antibody Class Switch in Activated‐B Cells

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Bcas2 recruits DHX15 and SRSF7 to form a protein complex for the splicing of CSR‐related mRNA at the 5' ss and 3' ss, generating two mature mRNA isoforms, which are ultimately translated into CSR‐related proteins. These CSR‐related proteins bind to DNA associated with antibodies, affecting the DSB repair of the relevant DNA after AID induction, thereby

The Development and Application of a Method for the Detection of Viable but Nonculturable Staphylococcus aureus by Magnetic Bead Separation Combined With PMA‐qPCR

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Inoculation of VBNC Staphylococcus aureus into foods and detection of VBNC S. aureus in food samples using both Fe3O4‐PMA‐qPCR and Kit‐PMA‐qPCR assays. (A) is the induction and inoculation of VBNC S. aureus into rice, chicken, and milk. (B) is the detection procedure using the Fe3O4‐PMA‐qPCR assay.

Rapid and Visual Detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Complex Based on Multiplex Recombinase Polymerase Amplification

open access: yesiLABMED, EarlyView.
We developed an on‐site detection platform for rapid detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) based on the IS1081 gene. The platform utilizes real‐time multiplex recombinase polymerase amplification (mRPA) to achieve a reaction time of less than 30 min.
