DETECTING RESIDUES IN TARGETING PEPTIDES [PDF]

open access: possibleProceedings of the 3rd Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference, 2005
Knowledge of targeting signals is of immense importance for understanding the cellular processes by which proteins are sorted and transported. This paper presents a system of recurrent neural networks which demonstrate an ability to detect residues belonging to specific targeting peptides with greater accuracy than current feed forward models.

Auditory target detection in reverberation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2004
Measurements and theoretical predictions of auditory target detection in simulated reverberant conditions are reported. The target signals were pulsed 13-octave bands of noise and the masker signal was a continuous wideband noise. Target and masker signals were passed through a software simulation of a reverberant room with a rigid sphere modeling a ...

Adaptive Target Separation Detection

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2021
This article considers target separation detection (TSD) in the presence of homogeneous Gaussian interference. The problem is formulated as a hypothesis test for two typical situations: 1) the use of a low range-resolution radar or fast-track update rate; 2) the use of a high-resolution radar or low-track update rate. At the design stage, TSD tests are

Target-detection strategies

Optical Engineering, 2012
An automatic (or aided) target recognizer (ATR) consists of two essential stages: detection and recognition. This chapter covers detection algorithms for literal imagery and ground targets, which are the most basic cases. There are a large number of other cases that aren’t covered.

Detection of a Distributed Target

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1971
The influence of increasing range resolution on the detectability of targets with dimensions greater than the resolution cell is studied. An N-cell target model is assumed, which contains k reflecting cells, each reflecting independently according to the same Rayleigh amplitude distribution. It will be referred to as the (N,k) target.

Target Detection and Identification Performance Using an Automatic Target Detection System

Human Factors: The Journal of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, 2016
Objective: We investigated the effects of automatic target detection (ATD) on the detection and identification performance of soldiers. Background: Prior studies have shown that highlighting targets can aid their detection. We provided
