Simulation to Predict Target Erosion of Planar DC Magnetron

Plasma Science and Technology, 2008
Plasma properties in a planar DC magnetron system are simulated by a non-self-consistent particle method in two dimensions. Through tracing the trajectories of the energetic electrons in the specified electric field and the magnetic field, and treating the collision process by Monte Carlo method, the spatial profile of ionization events can be obtained

Target erosion and deposition rates in planar magnetron sputtering

Journal of Vacuum Science & Technology A: Vacuum, Surfaces, and Films, 1984
Erosion grooves are known to develop on a surface of a planar magnetron sputtering target in the course of its use, causing the rate of deposition per unit power applied to the target (rate efficiency) to decrease with progressing erosion. It is shown that for a given target material there is a reproducible empirical correspondence between the rate ...

Plasma shield dynamics and target erosion in disruption simulation experiments

Fusion Engineering and Design, 2000
Dynamics of carbon plasma shields and graphite target erosion experimentally studied at the recently upgraded plasma gun facility MK-200 UG at TRINITI Troitsk are compared with numerical results from FOREV-2 which allows a 2-D modeling of hot plasma target interaction.

Three-Dimensional Simulation of Target Erosion in DC Magnetron Sputtering

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1994
We simulate the erosion profiles of a rectangular planar target in the DC magnetron sputtering system. The simulation model assumes time-independent magnetic and electric fields that are not disturbed by the magnetron plasma. The electron trajectories are obtained by integrating partial orbits.

Simulation of tungsten target erosion and tungsten impurity transport during argon seeding on EAST

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2021
The upgrade of experimental advanced superconducting tokamak lower divertor to use tungsten (W) target is undertaken, however the target erosion and W impurity accumulation in the core pose a great challenge during high power discharge with external ...

Using Google Earth Imagery to Target Assessments of Ephemeral Gully Erosion

Soil Erosion Research Under a Changing Climate, January 8-13, 2023, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, USA, 2023
Highlights Tested the utility of Google Earth and other imagery to target the location of ephemeral gullies. Developed a targeting methodology and tested it based on a ground truth obtained using a UAV.

LINE-1 RNA causes heterochromatin erosion and is a target for amelioration of senescent phenotypes in progeroid syndromes

Science Translational Medicine, 2022
Constitutive heterochromatin is responsible for genome repression of DNA enriched in repetitive sequences, telomeres, and centromeres. During physiological and pathological premature aging, heterochromatin homeostasis is profoundly compromised.

TARGETING EROSION CONTROL: ADOPTION OF EROSION CONTROL PRACTICES

1986
Factors affecting farmers' adoption of soil conservation practices varied by owned and rented land and by state, in this four-state, eight-county analysis. The differences among states, tenure classes, and various dependent variables left little basis for a model that could predict adoption of practices in the areas studied. Each state contained unique
