Landmine geo-location using dynamic modeling and target tracking

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2005
Geo-location is essential for landmine search using vehicular-mounted sensors. The vehicle and targets were combined into an incorporated model versus a separated model. Colored noise modeling is required for the separated model since the vehicle estimate errors are colored.

Passive geo-location for ground target with multiple measurements using fixed wing UAV

2016 IEEE Chinese Guidance, Navigation and Control Conference (CGNCC), 2016
In the passive geo-location methods, the relative altitude between the target and the UAV can't be measured directly. In this paper, the projection model is established to deal with the location without altitude and estimate the height. For the measurement error will significantly increase the locate uncertainty, the Recursive Least Square (RLS ...

Ground moving target geo-location from monocular camera mounted on a micro air vehicle

Proceedings of SPIE, 2011
The usual approaches to unmanned air vehicle(UAV)-to-ground target geo-location impose some severe constraints to the system, such as stationary objects, accurate geo-reference terrain database, or ground plane assumption. Micro air vehicle(MAV) works with characteristics including low altitude flight, limited payload and onboard sensors' low ...

Target geo-localization based on camera vision simulation of UAV [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optics (India), 2017
This paper presents a simulation study on estimating the Geo-Location of a target based on multiple image of the target taken from a gimbaled camera mounted on a unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which orbits around the target with a radius such that the ...

Vision-based target geo-location using camera equipped MAVs

2007 46th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2007
A method for determining the location of a fixed ground target when imaged from the air using camera equipped micro air vehicles (MAVs) is developed. The ground objects' elevation is assumed known. Rather than a "one shot" affair, multiple bearing measurements of the ground object taken as the aircrafts fly around the target are used.
