Hydraulic fast‐setting calcium silicate cement for crown cementation

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluated film thickness, diametral tensile strength (DTS), and crown retentive strength of hydraulic fast‐set calcium silicate cement (fast‐set CSC) compared to conventional luting cements. Materials and Methods Fast‐set CSC was compared to zinc phosphate cement and glass ionomer cement.

Integrated Metabolomics and Selection Signal Analysis Provide Insights Into the Selection for Flavonol Biosynthesis Associated With Lettuce Quality Improvement

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lettuce is a critical leafy vegetable consumed worldwide and is a substantial dietary source of health‐promoting compounds. Exploring changes in metabolism during lettuce domestication under artificial selection conditions is important to facilitate further breeding and cultivation for quality improvement.

maxRgain—An R Package for Maximising Genetic Gains in Polyclonal Selection

open access: yesPlant Breeding, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polyclonal selection, which was developed in the context of ancient grapevine varieties, uses intravarietal variability to improve the resilience and sustainability of viticulture. Based on quantitative genetics and linear mixed models, this approach predicts genotypic effects to select a group of clones that, as a whole, satisfy target ...

Directed Evolution of Plant‐Associated Bacteria Enhances Plant Holobiont Stress Tolerance

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plant stress responses are shaped by both the plant genome and its associated microbial communities, which together form the plant holobiont. Given the rapid adaptive potential of plant‐associated microbes, we hypothesised that directed evolution under selective pressure can accelerate the development of holobiont‐level stress tolerance ...

Geometrical isomerization of hydroxycinnamic acid under UV‐light: Structural plasticity as a driver of metabolite complexity

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
UV irradiation drives metabolite complexity through photoisomerization of hydroxycinnamic acid‐containing compounds in plants. The olefin functional group of hydroxycinnamic acid enables structural plasticity through trans/cis isomerization. Multiple chromophores within a molecule can amplify UV‐induced transformations.

Separation of Copper and Nickel Metal Ions from Electroplating Wastewater by Ultrafiltration with Tartaric Acid and Sodium Citrate Reinforced Sodium Polyacrylate Complexation

open access: yesMembranes
In this study, sodium polyacrylate (PAAS) and ultrafiltration membranes were used to extract and separate Cu2+ and Ni2+ ions from electroplating wastewater. The effects of pH, the P/M ratio (mass ratio of sodium polyacrylate to metal ions), tartaric acid,

Role of tartaric acid on the anodizing and corrosion behavior of AA 2024 T3 aluminum alloy

open access: yes, 2009
Tartaric acid is added to sulfuric acid anodizing baths to generate porous anodic film that provides corrosion resistance to practical aerospace alloys and reduces the environmental impact of the traditional chromic acid anodizing process.

The effects of a (poly)phenol‐rich food intervention on markers of exercise‐induced inflammation and oxidative stress: A randomised controlled trial

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examined whether consuming a (poly)phenol‐rich food before strenuous muscle‐damaging exercise can modify post‐exercise markers of inflammation and oxidative stress. Using a double‐blinded, randomised, placebo‐controlled, between‐subjects design, 26 recreationally active males (n = 15) and females (n = 11) consumed higher‐(poly ...
