Associations of Cerebrospinal Fluid Orexin‐A, Alzheimer Disease Biomarkers, and Cognitive Performance

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACTObjectiveCerebrospinal fluid (CSF) orexin‐A has been suggested to be a biomarker of Alzheimer disease (AD). In both cognitively unimpaired healthy older adults and individuals with symptomatic AD, CSF orexin‐A is positively associated with CSF Aβ42, p‐tau181, and total tau (t‐tau) concentrations.

Clinical and Imaging Features of Sporadic and Genetic Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration TDP‐43 A and B

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Certain frontotemporal lobar degeneration subtypes, including TDP‐A and B, can either occur sporadically or in association with specific genetic mutations. It is uncertain whether syndromic or imaging features previously associated with these patient groups are subtype or genotype specific.

Tau Immunotherapy [PDF]

open access: yesNeurodegenerative Diseases, 2015
In recent years, tau immunotherapy has advanced from proof-of-concept studies [Sigurdsson EM, NIH R01AG020197, 2001; Asuni AA, et al: J Neurosci 2007;27:9115-9129], which have now been confirmed and extended by us and others. Phase I clinical trials on active and passive tau immunizations are being conducted, with several additional passive tau ...

Early BMI Change, Cognitive Decline, and CSF AD Biomarkers Alterations in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the relationship of early BMI change with subsequent cognitive decline, CSF AD biomarkers alterations, and progression to dementia in patients with PD. Methods Study data were prospectively collected from the PPMI cohort. Weight/height data at enrollment and second‐year clinical visit were utilized to calculate BMI change.

On the problem of determining the parameter of an elliptic equation in a Banach space

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2014
The boundary value problem of determining the parameter of an elliptic equation -u''(t)+Au(t)=f(t)+p (0⩽t⩽T), u(0)=φ, u(T)=ψ, u(λ)=ξ ...

Continued fractions and generalized patterns [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2001
In [BS] Babson and Steingrimsson introduced generalized permutation patterns that allow the requirement that two adjacent letters in a pattern must be adjacent in the permutation. Let $f_{\tau;r}(n)$ be the number of $1\mn3\mn2$-avoiding permutations on $n$ letters that contain exactly $r$ occurrences of $\tau$, where $\tau$ a generalized pattern on $

Dual‐Phase C‐11 PiB PET Images for Detecting Tau Pathology in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is a major cause of lobar intracerebral hemorrhage and cognitive dysfunction in the elderly, and frequently coexists with Alzheimer's disease and tau pathology. Dual‐phase 11C‐PiB PET detects amyloid deposition and cerebral perfusion changes and may have diagnostic value for identifying tau in CAA ...
