A Reaction‐Diffusion Frame for Accessing Metabolic O2 Fluxes in Single Microalgal Cells with Low‐Cost Wide‐Field Imaging of Nanosensor Luminescence Lifetime

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Individual Chlamydomonas reinhardtii (C. reinhardtii) living cells on an agarose pad containing luminescent O2 nanosensors are imaged with a simple wide‐field protocol of lifetime imaging. The resulting maps of phosphorescence lifetime are analyzed within a reaction‐diffusion frame to access the distribution of metabolic O2 fluxes generated by single ...

Mechanical Force Storage and Reprogramming Hydrogel for Scarless Repair of Sports Joint Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the energy conversion of tendons, the “energy transit station” hydrogel is designed. The hydrogel not only shields stress concentration in sports injuries, but also reprograms energy forms to provide reasonable biomimetic contraction for wounds.

Dissecting the Molecular Determinants of α‐synuclein Phase Separation and Condensate Aging: The Pivotal Role of β‐Sheet‐Rich Motifs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through multiscale simulations and experimental approaches, the molecular determinants of α‐synuclein phase separation and condensate aging, which are linked to Parkinson's disease, are uncovered. Seven motifs are identified with high β‐sheet propensity in monomeric α‐synuclein and increasing β‐sheet tendencies during condensation and pre ...

A Single‐Molecule Pleuripotent Scaffold for Combinational Therapy of Alzheimer's Disease via Intranasal Administration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, guanidinium‐modified calix[5]arene (GC5AY) is developed featuring small size, positive charge, and desirable amphiphilicity, that can efficiently traverse the nasal mucosal barrier for brain drug delivery. Additionally, possessing inherent therapeutic functions, GC5AY can thus serve as a single‐molecule pleuripotent scaffold for multi‐target ...

Millikelvin Intracellular Nanothermometry with Nanodiamonds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanothermometry in living cells is crucial for understanding heat diffusion and advancing cellular biology and drug discovery. Previous studies have reported controversial intracellular temperature variations. Using nanodiamond nanothermometry in macrophages, it is found that, in such experimental setting, apparent temperature changes are actually due ...

Parabiosis, Assembloids, Organoids (PAO)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review evaluates parabiosis, organoids, and assembloids as complementary disease models spanning systemic, organ, and multi‐organ levels. It highlights their construction strategies, applications, and current limitations, while emphasizing their integration with frontier technologies such as artificial intelligence, organ‐on‐a‐chip, CRISPR, and ...
