The bicuspid aortic valve and its relation to aortic dilation

open access: yesClinics, 2010
BACKGROUND: A bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is a common congenital heart disease, which affects 1-2% of the population. However, the relationship between BAVs and aortic dilation has not been sufficiently elucidated.

Na4Ba9MnN3: A New Subnitridometalate with Trigonal Planar Anions [MnIIIN3]6−

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
The new subvalent nitridomanganate(III) Na4Ba9MnN3 contains structural elements known from ionic subnitridometalates as well as from intermetallic phases. In similarity to Ba3MnN3, isolated trigonal planar nitridomanganate(III) anions (MnN3)6−, coordinated by barium atoms represent the ionic region, while mixed barium‐sodium icosahedra known from ...

Chrysoperla externa (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae) as a Potential Biological Control Agent of Raoiella indica (Acari: Tenuipalpidae)

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
First and third instar Chrysoperla externa showed efficient predatory capacity at low R. indica density, but second instar C. externa exhibits a density‐dependent predatory ability. The lacewing C. externa shows promise as a biocontrol agent for R. indica in coconut because it consumed 8362 R. indica females across all its larval instars.

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Update in Morphology, Genetics, Biomarker, Complications, Imaging Diagnosis and Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The bicuspid aortic valve, a kind of heart disease that comes from parents, has been paid attention around the world. Although most bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) patients will suffer from some complications including aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation ...

Contextualizing the Cappella Cesi: Sangallo, Façades, and Renaissance Collaboration

open access: yesRenaissance Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract This article reframes Antonio da Sangallo the Younger's oft‐overlooked cappella Cesi nave façade in Santa Maria della Pace not as an isolated design deviation but as part of a broader architectural and artistic conversation among major players in early sixteenth‐century Rome.

Deregulation of Notch1 pathway and circulating endothelial progenitor cell (EPC) number in patients with bicuspid aortic valve with and without ascending aorta aneurysm

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is frequently associated with the development of ascending aortic aneurysm, even if the underlying mechanisms remain to be clarified.

Bicuspid aortic valve-associated aortopathy unraveling the molecular signature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) have an increased risk of developing ascending aortic aneurysm compared with individuals with a tricuspid aortic valve (TAV). A crucial factor involved in vascular remodeling during aneurysm development is

Ligand‐Driven Structural Modulation and Enhanced Photoluminescence in High‐Nuclearity Ag56 Nanoclusters

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
The study reveals a clear structure–property relationship in Ag56 nanoclusters by modulating auxiliary ligands while maintaining identical thiolate protection. Subtle ligand‐induced geometric distortions alter electronic transitions, leading to enhanced photoluminescence through increased radiative decay and suppressed non‐radiative losses.

Nationwide Analysis of PCI After TAVR From the Netherlands Heart Registration

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 107, Issue 3, Page 824-832, February 15, 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) has gained interest as concomitant coronary artery disease (CAD) is now often treated conservatively before TAVR, and TAVR is increasingly used in younger patients with longer life expectancies. Therefore, more contemporary data on PCI after
