Cerebrovascular Events in Aortic Stenosis: From Native Valve Disease to TAVR‐Specific Risk and Prevention

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 108, Issue 2, Page 331-342, August 1, 2026.
ABSTRACT Aortic stenosis (AS) is associated with a heightened burden of cardiovascular comorbidities, atrial fibrillation (AF), and progressive valvular calcification, all of which may contribute to cerebrovascular events across the disease continuum.

R1 Prognostic Significance of T‐Wave Amplitude Variability for Adverse Cardiovascular Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
In this systematic review and meta‐analysis of seven studies involving 1366 patients, elevated T‐wave amplitude variability (TAV) was associated with a 2.5‐fold higher risk of adverse cardiovascular outcomes. These findings support TAV as a marker of ventricular repolarization instability for long‐term risk stratification.

Hodgkin and non‐Hodgkin lymphomas in the post‐antiretroviral therapy era according to HIV virological suppression

open access: yesHIV Medicine, Volume 27, Issue 8, Page 1312-1332, August 2026.
Abstract Objectives Lymphomas remain among the most frequent HIV‐associated malignancies, with risk persisting despite effective virological control. This study describes the clinical, epidemiological and prognostic characteristics of lymphomas (both Hodgkin [HL] and non‐Hodgkin [NHL]) in people living with HIV (PLWH), according to virological ...

Aortic Valve Repair with External Annuloplasty in Bicuspid versus Tricuspid Aortic Valve Patients

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
Surgical repair for regurgitant bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is promising but underutilized due to perceived complexities and lack of long-term data.

Impact of Valve Morphology on the Prevalence of Coronary Artery Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2016
BackgroundLiterature studies suggested a lower prevalence of coronary artery disease (CAD) in bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) than in tricuspid aortic valve (TAV) patients. However, this finding has been challenged.

TAV-in-TAV for Acute Failure of a Transcatheter Aortic Valve in a High Surgical Risk Octogenarian Patient

open access: yesABC Imagem Cardiovascular
Abstract An 82-year-old patient with severe aortic valve stenosis and high risk for conventional surgery due to chronic renal dysfunction and restrictive lung disease underwent transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) using a self-expanding Navitor® prosthesis (Abbott).

Bicuspid versus tricuspid aortic valve morphology in elective ascending aortic aneurysm surgery: A propensity score–matched analysisCentral MessagePerspective

open access: yesJTCVS Open
Objective: To compare perioperative and long-term outcomes between bicuspid (BAV) and tricuspid (TAV) aortic valve patients undergoing elective ascending aortic aneurysm surgery using propensity score matching (PSM).
