Departing from standard practices: Strategic application of value engineering in the anatomy laboratory to enhance formaldehyde extraction using high‐impact, low‐cost, and low‐maintenance solutions

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 241-253, March 2025.
Abstract This study describes the process of developing a high‐impact, low‐cost, and low‐maintenance air ventilation system for anatomy facilities. It employed the strategic application of Value Engineering (VE), assuring that the air ventilation system meets contemporary threshold limit values (TLVs) for formaldehyde in the working zone of dissection ...

Aortic valve endocarditis in patients with bicuspid and tricuspid aortic valvesCentral MessagePerspective

open access: yesJTCVS Open, 2021
Objective: To determine the long-term survival and rate of reoperation after surgical treatment of infective endocarditis (IE) in patients with a bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and patients with a tricuspid aortic valve (TAV). Methods: Between 1997 and 2017,

Asymmetric Diphosphane Dioxides With A–π–A–π’–D Scaffolds for High‐Purity Deep‐Blue Luminescence

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Diphosphane dioxide‐based luminophores with donor–π–acceptor– π’–acceptor scaffold enable efficient deep‐blue emission from tunable charge‐transfer states affording high photoluminescence up to 95%. OLEDs reach EQE 4.9%, aided by triplet–triplet annihilation, highlighting a practical route to high‐performance blue emitters.

Tailoring Liquid Crystalline Self‐Assembly and Photophysical Properties of Unsymmetrical Fluorenones via Polar Terminal Groups

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Novel liquid crystalline fluorenones bearing various head groups were synthesized and characterized. By alteration of the head group, N, SmC, or SmA phases were obtained, and emission properties could be tuned depending on solvent or temperature. ABSTRACT In this work, a series of novel unsymmetrical fluorenone derivatives bearing various head groups ...

Increased calcification by erythrophagocytosis in aortic valvular interstitial cells

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1469-1473, April 2025.
Abstract Background Calcific aortic valve disease (CAVD) progresses over time to severe aortic stenosis and eventually heart failure. Recent evidence indicates that intraleaflet haemorrhage (ILH) strongly promotes CAVD progression. However, it remains poorly understood how it mechanistically contributes to valvular calcification.

Chemistry Underlying the Behavior of Food and Agricultural Components During Industrial Manufacturing Processes and Its Implications in Quality Assurance, Food Quality, and Food Safety Management: A Systematic Review

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Industrial manufacturing processes have transformative effects on the components of food matrix. These transformations in food matrix and components have direct implications for quality assurance (QA), food quality (e.g., nutritional profile and texture), and food safety management (e.g., pathogen control and toxin mitigation). ABSTRACT This systematic

Lower incidence of new-onset severe conduction disturbances after transcatheter aortic valve implantation with bicuspid aortic valve in patients with no baseline conduction abnormality: a cross-sectional investigation in a single center in China

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2023
BackgroundWith technological advancements, the incidence of most transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI)-related complications, with the exception of conduction disturbances, has decreased.

Are sensory processing difficulties in infancy predictive of child mental health at 5‐years? Findings from the Etude Longitudinale Francaise depuis l'Enfance French national birth cohort

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background People with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions have been demonstrated to have elevated rates of sensory processing (SP) difficulties in research and practice but the temporal order of this relationship is unclear. Methods This study sought to investigate whether SP difficulties in infancy predicted mental health at 5 ...

Chain‐End Grafting of RAFT Polyelectrolyte Macroligands to Stabilize Near‐Infrared‐Emitting Gold Nanoclusters

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Surface‐functionalized gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) are synthesized in situ by chain‐end grafting of RAFT polyelectrolytes at room temperature directly in water. It leads to highly stable polymer‐AuNCs nanohybrids emitting near‐infrared photoluminescence with µs lifetimes. ABSTRACT With their photoluminescence properties, gold nanoclusters (AuNCs, d<2 nm)

Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in India: Insights from a Large Multicenter Clinical Cohort (Project PAIR‐PSP)

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Background Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is a rare and devastating tauopathy with limited global data. Given India's large population, genetic diversity, and clinical heterogeneity, large multicenter datasets are crucial to enrich global understanding of PSP. Objective To characterize the demographic, clinical, and phenotypic profiles of a large
