Design of Molecular Lanthanide‐Based Quantum Light Sources for On‐Chip Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 11, 20 March 2026.
Rigid lanthanide complexes with a tetrapodal tris‐benzimidazolic ligand exhibit narrow, well‐resolved visible/NIR emission profiles suitable for quantum photonics. The EuL complex features an exceptionally sharp 5D₀→7F₀ transition enabled by an LMCT mechanism that suppresses inhomogeneous broadening.

GOT1 Inhibition Induces Extracellular Matrix Remodeling in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
Using tumor tissue engineering, we recreated pancreatic cancer and found that inhibiting glutamic‐oxaloacetic transaminase 1 (GOT1) induces extracellular matrix remodeling and secretome rewiring, as well as promotes cell death. ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer cells rely on glutamine to sustain their survival in the stiff and poorly vascularized tumor ...

Ultrafast Electron Transfer Coupled with a Proton Relay in an Anisotropic Dual S‐Scheme Heterojunction for Overcoming Kinetics Mismatch in H2O2 Photosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
An anisotropic dual S‐scheme heterojunction (C3N4/SubPc‐1/C3N5) is constructed to overcome the electron–proton kinetics mismatch in photocatalytic H2O2 production. The imide bridge serves as a dual channel for ultrafast electron transfer and proton relay, synergistically enabling efficient dual‐pathway oxygen reduction and achieving a high H2O2 ...

Single‐Cell Morphomechanics of Prostate Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Identifies Distinct Features Associated with Patient Outcome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in prostate tumors exhibit distinct morphomechanical traits vs normal fibroblasts, including greater stiffness and volume, more elongated stress fibres, and larger and more elongated nuclei. These features, quantified through imaging and real‐time deformability cytometry, correlate with patient outcomes and can be ...

Identification of the Non-Volatile Taste-Active Components in Crab Sauce

open access: yesFoods, 2019
Crab sauce is a traditional umami seasoning in the coastal cities in South East China. The putative non-volatile taste-active components in crab sauce were measured, and their impacts on the taste were evaluated on the basis of the taste activity value ...

Microplastic mineralization rate in Fenton reactions depends on polymer type

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 55, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Despite microplastics (MPs) being highly inert pollutants, Fenton‐type reactions—using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and iron(II) ions (Fe2+)—may effectively initiate chain cleavage and induce mineralization. However, mineralization rates and mechanisms for different MP types at varying Fenton reagent concentrations remain unclear.

Comparison of the Coating Structure of Silicon‐Based PECVD Coatings With Varying Organic Content

open access: yesPlasma Processes and Polymers, Volume 23, Issue 3, March 2026.
Silicon‐based PECVD coatings transition abruptly from organic SiOCH to oxidic SiOx at ~32 at% silicon, exhibiting threshold behavior in barrier performance. Chemical composition seems to dominate over porosity: SiOx coatings unexpectedly show higher porosity yet superior barrier properties, possibly due to rigid cage‐like molecular structures ...

New Hybrid Nanocomposite Films for Optical Diagnostics and Optical Temperature Sensing: Synergy Among α‐Synuclein, Gold and Upconverting Nanoparticles

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 15, 12 March 2026.
Gold and upconverting nanoparticles coated with alpha‐synuclein were exploited to produce a quasi‐monolayer hybrid film. The film was then characterized, and its behaviour as a primary optical nano‐thermometer was studied. The film was also used in a proof‐of‐concept study of image‐based optical nanothermometry exploiting a home‐built up‐conversion ...

Quantizing DNA Metallization for Site‐Defined Growth of Single Quantum Emitters

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Predictive design rules guide DNA origami‐templated synthesis of atomically precise silver nanoclusters. Controlled nucleation yields single emitters with nanometer registration and reproducible fluorescence signatures, paving the way toward programable quantum photonic architectures and nanoscale device integration.

Rover‐Induced Mineral Transformations: Extent of the Effect for the Mars Science Laboratory and Opportunities for Future Landed Mission

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract X‐ray amorphous sulfate hydrates are a substantial component (up to 23 wt%) of the sedimentary rocks and sands analyzed to date by the Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity rover at Gale crater. Recently, the CheMin X‐ray diffractometer observed the amorphization of the crystalline sulfate starkeyite (MgSO4 · 4H2O) upon exposure to the dry and ...
