Non-taxane compounds from the bark of Taxus yunnanensis
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2002From the bark of Taxus yunnanensis, 15 non-taxane compounds were isolated. Through spectroscopic methods such as ID and 2D NMR and MS experiments, one of them was determined as a new abietane-type diterpenoid named taxayunnin (1). The other 14 known compounds were identified as taxamairin C (2), taxamairin A (3), 3beta-hydroxy-sandaracopimaric acid (4),

Taxuyunnanines S-V, New Taxoids from Taxus yunnanensis
Planta Medica, 2002Four new 11(15-->1)-abeotaxoids with an opened oxetane ring system, taxuyunnanines S, T, U and V (1 - 4) were isolated from the bark of Taxus yunnanensis. Taxuyunnanine S (1), is the most hydroxylated abeotaxoid discovered to date from Taxus species. The structures were determined by spectroscopic means including 1D and 2D NMR experiments.

Development of the male reproductive structures in Taxus yunnanensis
Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2008Taxus yunnanensis Cheng et L. K. Fu is a rare species endemic to Southeast Asia. The development of the male reproductive structures with emphasis on microsporogenesis and microgametogenesis are described for the first time. Our results showed that T.yunnanensis exhibits several features that are very different from other species of Taxus, such as ...

Isolation and characterization of microsatellite markers for the endangered Taxus yunnanensis
Conservation Genetics, 2008Eleven polymorphic microsatellite loci were characterized for the endangered conifer Taxus yunnanensis. Eight loci were isolated through SSR-anchored PCR, one locus was developed by cross-species amplification tests, while the last two loci were obtained from cross-species microsatellite sequences available in GenBank.

Cytochrome P450 3A4 Inhibitory Constituents of the Wood ofTaxus yunnanensis [PDF]
From the aqueous extract of the wood of Taxus yunnanensis, which showed cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) inhibition, a new isoflavan [(3S,4R)-4'-hydroxy-6,3'-dimethoxyisoflavan-4-ol (1)], a new degraded lignan [2,3-bis(hydroxymethyl)-7-hydroxy-6-methoxy-1-tetralone (2)], and a new lignan [(7R)-7-hydroxytaxiresinol (3)] were isolated, together with nine ...

Transcriptome profiling reveals specific patterns of paclitaxel synthesis in a new Taxus yunnanensis cultivar [PDF]
The difference in contents of paclitaxel and 10-deacetylbaccatin III (10-DABIII) in needles between wildtype (WT) and a new cultivar (Zhongdayihao, ZD1) of Taxus yunnanensis was examined. Transcriptome profiling was conducted for different tissues of the ZD1 and WT to illustrate the regulation mechanism of paclitaxel biosynthesis.

DPPH Radical Scavenging and Nitric Oxide Inhibitory Activities of the Constituents from the Wood ofTaxus yunnanensis [PDF]
The H2O, H2O/MeOH (1 : 1) and MeOH extracts of the wood of Taxus yunnanensis possessed significant DPPH radical scavenging and nitric oxide (NO) inhibitory activities. Chemical investigation of these extracts led us to isolation of nineteen compounds, i.
