Genetic Differentiation in the SdhC Subunit Confers Intrinsic Resistance to SDHI Fungicides in Fusarium asiaticum

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
In Fusarium asiaticum, two homologous SdhC subunits (FaSdhC1/C2) regulate sensitivity to SDHI fungicides: deletion of FaSDHC1 decreases sensitivity, while deletion of FaSDHC2 increases it. Multiple mutations in ΔFaSDHC2 confer resistance to SDHI fungicides.

Weak Nuclear Divergence Despite Pronounced Mitochondrial Divergence Within a Widespread Desert‐Inhabiting Palearctic Lark (Aves: Alaudidae)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 389-404, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The Bar‐tailed Lark Ammomanes cinctura is a polytypic bird species with a wide distribution. One of its three subspecies, A. c. arenicolor, has previously been found to show deep mitochondrial divergence between its geographically most distant populations, from Morocco and Saudi Arabia, respectively.

Chemo‐Enzymatic Route for Covalent Cellulose Fiber Dyeing

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 14, 15 April 2026.
This work presents a proof of concept for a chemo‐enzymatic approach to the covalent dyeing of cotton fibers. Laccase/TEMPO oxidation introduces aldehyde groups, enabling subsequent reductive amination with amino dyes. Excellent color homogeneity and wash fastness were demonstrated using acid red 33, highlighting the robustness of the approach and its ...
