Sampling duration matters: Intraindividual variation of glycaemic metrics in type 1 diabetes using automated insulin delivery. [PDF]

open access: yesDiabet Med
Abstract Introduction Understanding intraindividual variability in glycaemic metrics among users of automated insulin delivery (AID) is essential for interpreting data from continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Methods CGM data over 56 days were collected from 142 individuals with type 1 diabetes using AID systems.

Morphology‐based phylogeny of longhorn beetles (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) aligns with phylogenomics and informs higher‐level systematics

open access: yesCladistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We present a morphology‐based backbone phylogeny of Cerambycidae beetles inferred by parsimony analyses using 77 adult characters scored for 101 species. This phylogeny is largely consistent with recent phylogenomic studies regarding key placements (e.g., Parandrini stat. rev. within Prioninae, Necydalini stat. rev.

Unravelling the phylogeny of armadillos and their kin (Mammalia, Xenarthra, Cingulata) combining morphological, molecular, and stratigraphic data

open access: yesCladistics, EarlyView.
Abstract Cingulata, a major lineage of Xenarthra, comprises extinct and extant armoured placental mammals that diversified throughout the Cenozoic. Despite extensive study, phylogenetic hypotheses based on morphological and molecular data remain incongruent, and no total evidence analysis has been conducted. Here, we integrate the largest morphological

From narratives to numbers and back: Assessing the psychosocial aspects of diabetes in the era of high technology with emerging qualitative and quantitative methodologies

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Rapid changes in diabetes therapy combined with limitations of traditional methodological approaches challenge the field of psychosocial research to adequately capture the experiences of people with diabetes. This narrative review provides an overview of emerging qualitative and quantitative approaches that can advance the study of ...

Exploring the gap between sensor‐detected (SDH) and person‐reported hypoglycaemia (PRH): The voice of people living with diabetes

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Aims In people with insulin‐treated diabetes experiencing hypoglycaemia, the multicentre Hypo‐METRICS study found that 60% of sensor‐detected hypoglycaemic episodes (SDH) were asymptomatic, and over 40% of person‐reported hypoglycaemia (PRH) occurred at glucose levels ≥70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L).

Natural variation of TBR confers plant zinc toxicity tolerance through root cell wall pectin methylesterification

open access: yesNature Communications
Zinc (Zn) is an essential micronutrient but can be cytotoxic when present in excess. Plants have evolved mechanisms to tolerate Zn toxicity. To identify genetic loci responsible for natural variation of plant tolerance to Zn toxicity, we conduct genome ...

Effects of ezetimibe/simvastatin 10/10 mg versus Rosuvastatin 10 mg on carotid atherosclerotic plaque inflammation

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2019
Background Using 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18FDG) positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging, we examined the effects of ezetimibe/simvastatin 10/10 mg versus rosuvastatin 10 mg on carotid atherosclerotic plaque inflammation. Whether

Does faster aspart improve time in range in children with type 1 diabetes with glycaemia close to target on insulin pump therapy?

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims To evaluate whether faster insulin aspart (FIA) improves time in range (TIR) compared with standard insulin aspart (SIA) in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes achieving glycaemia close to target treated with continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).
