ABSTRACT The focus on wind power frequency regulation has largely been on individual wind farms, which presents challenges in meeting the coordinated operation needs of multiple stations within large‐scale installations. To address issues of model simplification and accuracy, we propose a large‐scale wind farm equivalent modeling method based on ...

Empowering Older Patients in Advance Care Planning: Evaluating MyCare™ as a Decision Support Tool
ABSTRACT Background Older adults with serious illness often face treatment decisions shaped by personal values, yet recognising and expressing those values in ways that guide decision‐making can be challenging. This study evaluated the acceptability, usability and effectiveness of MyCare, a digital values clarification tool designed to help older ...

Sustainable bioceramics, biopolymers, and composites for bone applications: From bench to production
Abstract In response to environmental challenges and primary resource scarcity, sustainable approaches that rely on recycling and reusing waste materials are becoming highly valuable and appealing options in modern society. These strategies have started being applied in biomaterials science, too, leading to the advent of new synergies between ...

Biocompatible Ink Optimization Enables Functional Volumetric Bioprinting With Xolography
Xolography's reliance on weak‐base co‐initiators introduces unique biochemical constraints. By dissecting the effects of extracellular pH, osmolality, and lysosomotropic stress, this study defines the biochemical design space that enables fully biocompatible, cell‐laden volumetric printing. Abstract Xolography is a novel linear volumetric manufacturing

Engineering Aging: Approaches to Model and Deconstruct Biological Complexity
The macro‐experiences of aging are the result of an accumulation of micro‐changes that occur over time. Abstract The disparity between the global increase in life expectancy and the steady decline in health outcomes with age has been a major driver for developing new ways to research aging.

We present a single rate multicast congestion control scheme (pgmcc) which is TCP-friendly and achieves scalability, stability and fast response to variations in network conditions. pgmcc is suitable for both non-reliable and reliable data transfers; it uses a window-based TCP-like controller based on positive ACKs and run between the ...

Improving media sensitivity of TCP-friendly rate control for multimedia streaming applications [PDF]
In this paper, we present a TCP-friendly congestion control that is at the same time media-friendly (i.e. sensitive to media characteristics). These types of rate controls are more suitable for multimedia streaming applications than the classical TCP congestion control and smooth TCP-friendly rate controls.
