Analysis of the damping characteristics of two power electronics-based Devices using 'individual channel analysis and design' [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A comparison of the capabilities of two quite distinct power electronics-based ‘flexible AC transmission systems’ devices is presented. In particular, the damping of low frequency electromechanical oscillations is investigated aiming at improving the ...

Comparison of Three Optimization Algorithms for Designing a Robust Power System With an Advanced Heffron–Phillips Model

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Low‐frequency oscillations are created in the power system due to the interconnection of large electric networks with weak tie‐lines, heavy power exchanges, and sudden changes in load demand and generation, which must be damped quickly for stability.

Optimal Investment on Series FACTS Devices Considering Contingencies

open access: yes, 2016
Series FACTS devices are capable of relieving congestion and reducing generation costs in the power system. This paper proposes a planning model to optimally allocate TCSCs in the transmission network considering the base case and $N-1$ contingencies. We

Wide‐area damping control in renewable integrated power systems: A review on recent achievements and new challenges

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Economics, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 341-358, December 2025.
Abstract Low‐frequency oscillations (LFOs) remain a major obstacle to maintaining stable dynamic performance in power systems with high levels of renewable energy integration. In particular, inter‐area LFOs have emerged as a critical concern in large, interconnected grids.

Cancer Stem Cells in Thyroid Tumors: From the Origin to Metastasis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2020
Thyroid tumors are extremely heterogeneous varying from almost benign tumors with good prognosis as papillary or follicular tumors, to the undifferentiated ones with severe prognosis. Recently, several models of thyroid carcinogenesis have been described,

A Systematic Literature Review on Auction Mechanisms: Insights From the Last Decade and Future Directions

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 39, Issue 5, Page 1971-1998, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This study reports the results of a systematic literature review on auctions mechanism. Auctions are a very popular practice employed in many fields but does not exist a research that investigates the use of auctions under a cross‐disciplinary approach. This work is focused on analyzing which are the areas where auctions are mostly adopted and

Revisiting Boron Cluster Dihydrogen Bonding: Improved Reference Energies and Benchmark of Localized Coupled Cluster and DFT Methods

open access: yesInternational Journal of Quantum Chemistry, Volume 125, Issue 21, November 5, 2025.
The reference interaction energies for the diH‐norm and diH‐linear datasets have been re‐evaluated at the gold standard. These revised values serve as benchmarks to assess the accuracy of various localized‐orbital coupled‐cluster and density functional methods.

Static VAr Compensator Control Using Phasor Measurement Unit Feedback Signals for Voltage Stability Improvement in Power Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 7, Page 3569-3587, July 2025.
Static VAr Compensators can provide significant improvement in power system stability. Phasor Measurement Units are used in combination with SVCs for fast and reliable control of its operation. By combining the VAr control and Voltage Regulation control methods of the SVC, superior performance is obtained.
