Wideband TDoA Positioning Exploiting RSS-Based Clustering

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The accuracy of radio-based positioning is heavily influenced by a dense multipath (DM) channel, leading to poor position accuracy. The DM affects both time of flight (ToF) measurements extracted from wideband (WB) signals—specifically, if the bandwidth is below 100 MHz—as well as received signal strength (RSS) measurements, due to the interference of ...

Methodology of determining of the transfer function of engagement kinematics of accelerations of an aircraft and its elliptic coordinates used for thr guidance based on time difference of arrival

open access: yesСистемный анализ и прикладная информатика, 2021
This paper discusses the problem of determining a kinematics (in terms of transfer function, as far as possible) of parameters of the motion of an aircraft expressed in the curvilinear coordinate system and control accelerations expressed in a ...

Software-only TDOA/RTF positioning for 3G WCDMA wireless network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A hybrid location finding technique based oil time difference of arrival (TDOA) with round-trip time (RTT) measurements is proposed for a wideband code division Multiple access (WCDMA) network.

Realization of TDOA estimation architectures [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 27th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2002
An architecture for the computation of time difference of arrival (TDOA) estimates is proposed. The structure of the various principal components is developed and a complexity analysis is presented. Realization using pipeline FFT and vector processing chips is considered.

Asymptotic Performance of TDOA Estimation Using Satellites

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2022
We present novel lower bounds on the localization error using a network of satellites randomly deployed on a sphere around Earth. Our new analysis approach characterizes the localization performance by its asymptotic behavior as the number of satellites gets large while assuming a dense network.

A two‐stage iterative method for short‐wave source localisation

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2023
Short‐wave source localisation has an important role in many fields. A two‐stage iterative algorithm is proposed based on the ionospheric virtual height (IVH) model using the direction of arrival (DOA) and time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements ...

TDOA based geolocation using IRLS algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes2017 International Conference on Intelligent Informatics and Biomedical Sciences (ICIIBMS), 2017
The geolocation method using the wireless signal processing system is widely used in many industrial areas. The time difference of arrival (TDOA) method is one of the most commonly used geolocation methods. The TDOA signal based geolocation system can estimate the position of a mobile object by using at least three base stations in two dimensional ...
