Surface mining for coal in the Central Appalachians contributes total dissolved solids (TDS) to headwater streams, especially below larger mines and associated valley fills. The objective of this study was to characterize the geochemical properties of a range of surface soils and associated geologic strata from the Central Appalachian coalfields and to

Estimating Reservoir Parameters Using Thermal Transient Testing (TDS Technique)
SPE Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition, 2013Abstract In the estimation of most reservoir parameters in well test, the reservoir is assumed to be isothermal which is practically not true due to the fact that there are heat sources from friction in the wellbore, work done by the drill bit and as well as thermal recovery. Although, this temperature change is small, it can serve other

Application of Smart Antenna Interference Suppression Techniques in TD-SCDMA Systems
2009 Sixth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2009The quality of mobile communications have been severely affected by interference among users in TD-SCDMA, in allusion to this problem, the smart antenna adaptive beam-forming algorithm are researched deeply in the thesis. According to the technical features that smart antenna can adaptive track the user signals realize the design and simulation of ...

Comparative study of joint-detection techniques for TD-CDMA based mobile radio systems
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2001Third-generation mobile radio systems use time division-code division multiple access (TD-CDMA) in their time division duplex (TDD) mode. Due to the time division multiple access (TDMA) component of TD-CDMA, joint (or multi-user) detection techniques can be implemented with a reasonable complexity. Therefore, joint-detection will already be implemented

2016 IEEE 9th UK-Europe-China Workshop on Millimetre Waves and Terahertz Technologies (UCMMT), 2016
In both Fourier Transform Spectroscopy and Time-Domain Spectroscopy in the THz frequency region, many of the measurements are performed on samples of a single material and given known thickness to either characterize a material sample, characterize a reference substrate of material for a subsequent measurement, or where superior data on that sample ...

Tapioca starch gelatinization properties monitored by TD-NMR and complementary techniques
2021This work is focused on the understanding of the molecular mechanisms which pilot the expansion of breads without or reduced in gluten, mechanisms which take place during their cooking, their cooling and their preservation. The main objective is to connect these mechanisms with the phenomena of mechanical destabilization/stabilization of the dough cell

Determination of automobile paint thickness using non-contact THz-TDS technique
2015 40th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz waves (IRMMW-THz), 2015We use pulsed THz-TDS as a non-contact method for the measurement of thickness in automobile paint on a non-metallic substrate. We use a least square algorithm in order to fit the reflected pulses of each layer. Extracting the delay of each from the theoretical function allows us to know the thickness of each layer present in the system.

Anti-Collision RFID System Based on Combination of TD and Gold Code Techniques
Advanced Science and Technology Letters, 2015Radio-frequency identification (RFID) communication system known as auto-id has experienced tremendous growth worldwide, considering as a flexible mechanism for identification of objects. Degradation of data transmission due to external interference and interference of RFID system itself (tags and reader collision) is one of the most important factors ...
