Radical‐Mediated, Substrate‐Independent Fabrication of Hybrid Solid–Hydrogel Materials With Tunable Crosslinking: An Initiator‐ and Crosslinker‐Free Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a substrate‐independent, reagent‐free plasma strategy that forms radical‐rich interlayers for covalent hydrogel attachment without initiators or crosslinkers. The long‐lived radicals drive in situ gelation, creating robust, cytocompatible hybrid solid–hydrogel constructs across diverse substrates.

It\u27s Like They\u27re Building the Airplane While It\u27s in the Air

open access: yes, 2015
One of the things I was most concerned about when I left the classroom to become a teacher educator was losing my credibility. Everybody knows the rap on teacher educators: they\u27re out of touch, too theoretical, disconnected from the everyday life of ...

3D online spaces for teacher education: mapping the territory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
[Abstract]: If familiarity with games played out in 3D online spaces is truly a defining characteristic of the emerging generations of learners then teacher educators need to attend to these environments both as venues for teacher preparation and as a ...

Cohort‐Scale Spatial Autocorrelation for Tumor Prediction in Mid‐Infrared Pathology and Spatial Biomarker Discovery Using MALDI Imaging Lipidomics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Computational annotation of various tissue types in heterogeneous samples such as colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM) using spatial autocorrelation analysis on non‐destructive mid‐infrared (MIR) imaging data enabled correlative multimodal mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) for spatial investigation of lipid tumor marker candidates. The method can be

Photon‐Sphere Modes in Curved Optical Microcavities: A Black‐Hole Analogue Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optical analogue of a Schwarzschild black hole is realized using curved microcavities that preserve light‐like geodesics. A new family of laser modes confined around the photon sphere is identified alongside conventional whispering‐gallery modes. Analytical theory, numerical simulations, and experiments reveal curvature‐induced confinement, enabling
