Unraveling LINE‐1 retrotransposition in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
The novel RetroTest method allows the detection of L1 activation in clinical samples with low DNA input, providing global L1 activity and the identification of the L1 source element. We applied RetroTest to a real‐world cohort of HNSCC patients where we reported an early L1 activation, with more than 60% of T1 patients showing L1 activity.

Adaptive Teaching of Temporal Logic Formulas to Learners with Preferences [PDF]
Machine teaching is an algorithmic framework for teaching a target hypothesis via a sequence of examples or demonstrations. We investigate machine teaching for temporal logic formulas -- a novel and expressive hypothesis class amenable to time-related task specifications. In the context of teaching temporal logic formulas, an exhaustive search even for

Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Iterative Machine Teaching without Teachers [PDF]
Iterative machine teaching is a method for selecting an optimal teaching example that enables a student to efficiently learn a target concept at each iteration. Existing studies on iterative machine teaching are based on supervised machine learning and assume that there are teachers who know the true answers of all teaching examples.

Tournaments, Johnson Graphs, and NC-Teaching [PDF]
Quite recently a teaching model, called "No-Clash Teaching" or simply "NC-Teaching", had been suggested that is provably optimal in the following strong sense. First, it satisfies Goldman and Matthias' collusion-freeness condition. Second, the NC-teaching dimension (= NCTD) is smaller than or equal to the teaching dimension with respect to any other ...
