Pushing the Frontiers: Artificial Intelligence (AI)‐Guided Programmable Concepts in Binary Self‐Assembly of Colloidal Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Colloidal nanoparticles self‐assembly advances towards intelligent, customized assembly through precise control of binary co‐assemblies. This review explores the evolution from monolithic to binary assemblies, highlighting how the AI‐guided programmable assembly approach has the potential to shift from passive assembly to active intelligent design.

Paired teaching for faculty professional development in teaching [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Paired (or co-)teaching is an arrangement in which two faculty are collaboratively responsible for all aspects of teaching a course. By pairing an instructor experienced in research-based instructional strategies (RBIS) with an instructor with little or no experience in RBIS, paired teaching can be used to promote the adoption of RBIS.

Generation of a High‐Precision Whole Liver Panorama and Cross‐Scale 3D Pathological Analysis for Hepatic Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using the MOSTtechnology and whole‐liver Nissl staining method, a multi‐structural 3D pathological panorama of liver fibrosis is obtained. The damaged sinusoids, steatotic hepatocytes, and collagen deposition are all concentrated in pericentral areas.

Transforming student learning with classroom communication systems [PDF]

open access: yesEducause Center for Applied Research (ECAR) Research Bulletin ERB0403, 03 February 2004, 2005
Since 1993, the University of Massachusetts Physics Education Research Group (UMPERG) has developed curriculum and pedagogic techniques for use with classroom communication systems (CCSs) and has researched the effectiveness of CCS-based teaching. This bulletin describes how CCSs can influence "interactive pedagogy" and fundamentally transform the ...

Real‐Time Self‐Optimization of Quantum Dot Laser Emissions During Machine Learning‐Assisted Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a machine learning‐driven approach integrated with in situ high‐energy electron diffraction (RHEED) monitoring to automate the optimization of quantum dot (QD) growth for lasers. A 3.2‐fold increase in photoluminescence intensity is achieved alongside a narrow spectral linewidth.

Forsythiaside A prevents zymosan A-induced cell migration in neutrophil-differentiated HL-60 cells via PD-1/PD-L1 pathway

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Neutrophils, which account for more than 80% of leukocyte, play an important role in resolution of inflammation. Immune checkpoint molecules could be potential biomarkers in immunosuppression.

Technical and Didactical Scenarios of Student-centered Teaching and Learning

open access: yes, 2003
In this paper we envision didactical concepts for university education based on self-responsible and project-based learning and outline principles of adequate technical support. We use the scenario technique describing how a fictive student named Anna organizes her studies of informatics at a fictive university from the first days of her studies to ...
