Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Tearing Instability in Gyrotropic Magnetohydrodynamics: Effects of Equilibrium Pressure Anisotropy
Weakly collisional plasmas are widespread in astrophysics and can sustain pressure anisotropy, yet most analytical tearing-mode scalings assume an isotropic equilibrium.

Rotator Cuff Tear and Glenohumeral Instability
The rotator cuff plays a significant role in the static and dynamic stability of the glenohumeral joint. Rotator cuff tears may occur after shoulder dislocations, whether in younger athletes or older patients with age-related tendon degeneration. Untreated tears may cause persistent pain, dysfunction, instability, and degenerative changes.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Synergistic effect of electron cyclotron current drive and poloidal shear flow on the tearing mode
The separate and synergistic effects of both the electron cyclotron current drive (ECCD) and poloidal shear flow on the tearing mode are investigated numerically by using two-dimensional compressible magnetohydrodynamics equations in slab geometry.

Computations of the current profile influence on tearing instability [PDF]
Results of computations of tearing instability of a plasma column in a strong longitudinal magnetic field are presented for different current profiles. The power current profiles j=j sub 0(1-(r/a)(P))(nu) are considered and analyzed for various values of

Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Tearing and MHD Instability During Gun Injection into a Spheromak
Linear stability analysis of a two-cylinder approximation to gun injection--one cylinder to represent the confined spheromak and another to represent the gun--is shown to yield equilibria in which tearing modes exist simultaneously at the magnetic axis ...
