Technetium-99m scintimammography in the diagnosis of malignant breast tumors [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2004
Background. Technetium-99m (99mTc) tetrofosmin scintigraphy is a new imaging method for the diagnosis of various malignancies, such as lung, thyroid, and most frequently breast neoplasms.

Matere Bonds in Technetium Compounds: CSD Survey and Theoretical Considerations

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
Noncovalent interactions involving metals as electron acceptors are continuously under investigation. The term “matere bond” has been proposed to identify noncovalent donor–acceptor interactions where elements of group 7 of the periodic table play the ...

Radio-Guided Lung Surgery: A Feasible Approach for a Cancer Precision Medicine

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
Background: Radio-guided surgery is a reliable approach used for localizing ground-glass opacities, lung nodules, and metastatic lymph nodes. Lung nodules, lymph node metastatic involvement, and ground-glass opacities often represent a challenge for ...

Thionitrosyl Complexes of Rhenium and Technetium with PPh3 and Chelating Ligands—Synthesis and Reactivity

open access: yesInorganics
In contrast to corresponding nitrosyl compounds, thionitrosyl complexes of rhenium and technetium are rare. Synthetic access to the thionitrosyl core is possible by two main approaches: (i) the treatment of corresponding nitrido complexes with S2Cl2 and (

Efficacy of scintigraphy as a diagnostic aid in oral and maxillofacial pathologies: A comparative radionuclide-radiographic study

open access: yesJournal of Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology, 2015
Aims and Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate various lesions involving the oral and maxillofacial region by using scintigraphy and to compare the findings with those of conventional radiograph. Materials and Methods: Nineteen subjects of

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Metal Complexes Containing Natural and and Artificial Radioactive Elements and Their Applications

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Recent advances (during the 2007–2014 period) in the coordination and organometallic chemistry of compounds containing natural and artificially prepared radionuclides (actinides and technetium), are reviewed.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

From [99mTc]pertechnetate to [99mTc]sestamibi: Dissection of a Complex Reaction Sequence Using Radio-LC-MS

open access: yesMolecules
[99mTc]sestamibi ([99mTc][Tc(MIBI)6]+; MIBI = 2-methoxybutylisonitrile) is a clinically established myocardial perfusion SPECT tracer. Its one-pot kit-based synthesis from [99mTc]pertechnetate ([99mTc][TcO4]−) is complex, involving a 6-oxidation state ...
