PROGRESS IN ANALOG IMAGE PROCESSING, 1969

open access: yes, 1969
QC 351 A7 no. 47This second report on the analog image processing program describes some modifications made to the machine and the results of some recent experiments. The chief modifications are increasing the speed of operation, re- wiring the amplifier

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Design Examples of Tilted-Component Telescopes (TCT's) (A Class of Unobscured Reflectors)

open access: yes, 1971
QC 351 A7 no. 68A tilted component telescope (TCT) is one that features no obstructions in the light path yet is appreciably simpler to build than conventional off -axis instruments.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

TWO-SURFACE OPTICAL SYSTEMS WITH ZERO THIRD-ORDER SPHERICAL ABERRATION

open access: yes, 1969
QC 351 A7 no. 37This paper derives four one-parameter families of two-surface optical systems having the property that, relative to a well-defined pair of conjugate points, one finite and the other infinite, third-order spherical aberration is zero.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

A NEW DESIGN CLASS OF WIDE-FIELD CAMERA FOR WIDE PASS-BAND USES

open access: yes, 1966
QC 351 A7 no. 09Meinel and Shack recently devised a three-element reflective optical system for a specific astronomical application that appears to offer rather general uses for fast, wide-field cameras.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
