Residual heat estimation by using Cherenkov radiation in Tehran Research Reactor

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2008
Abstract An experiment is set up in Tehran 5 MW research reactor to observe Cherenkov radiation response during post-shutdown periods. An ordinary PC camera is used for this purpose. Theoretical estimation of the total power including decay heat and neutronic power is checked against detector response. A general agreement suggests that the same setup

The Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Research Facility at the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR)

1996
In this paper, the procedure applied to produce a neutron beam suitable for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) research at the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) is discussed. In this project the reactor core of the Nuclear Research Center of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran was used as the neutron source.

Calculation of dpa rate in graphite box of Tehran Research Reactor (TRR)

Nuclear Science and Techniques, 2019
Radiation damage is an important factor that must be considered while designing nuclear facilities and nuclear materials. In this study, radiation damage is investigated in graphite, which is used as a neutron reflector in the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) core. Radiation damage is shown by displacement per atom (dpa) unit.

Radiation dose calculations for an accidental release from the Tehran Research Reactor

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 2013
Abstract Radiological consequence analysis is carried out for a postulated accidental airborne radionuclide release from the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR). Using the “Hots pot” computer code, Total Effective Dose Equivalent (TEDE) values to the public for various atmospheric stability classes are calculated as a function of downwind distances.

Radioactive dispersion model for Tehran research reactor and radioisotope laboratory stacks

2010 International Conference on Environmental Engineering and Applications, 2010
In this paper, the amount of released radionuclide from Tehran's research reactor and radioisotope laboratory stacks has been studied. The aim of this work is to determine the amount and type of radioactive material and to estimate their risk once they released to the environment. To perform the above two task, a computer modeling using cap-88 code and

Integral boundary layer heat transfer modeling for Tehran Research Reactor

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2011
Abstract In the present work the validity of applying the Boussinesq approximation in the analysis of natural convection heat transfer along nuclear fuel plates with large coolant channel aspect ratios is evaluated. The Boussinesq approximation is introduced into the integral boundary layer equations governing the system to describe the velocity and ...

Simulation of radionuclide atmospheric dispersion and dose assessment for inhabitants of Tehran province after a hypothetical accident of the Tehran Research Reactor

Radiation and Environmental Biophysics, 2018
Radiological dose assessment is one of the main categories of safety assessment for nuclear reactors and facilities. The radiation risks to the public and to the environment that may arise from these facilities have to be assessed and, if necessary, controlled. The main objective of this paper is the assessment of radiation doses to residents of Tehran

The effect of retarding torque during a flow transient for Tehran Research Reactor

Annals of Nuclear Energy, 2011
Abstract The primary cooling system of the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) has been analysed for a possible flow transient phenomenon caused by power cut-off. All the components of the TRR primary cooling loop that offer resistance to the coolant flow are physically modelled. Differential equations of motion for the coolant in the primary piping of the
