Dynamical effects in control systems (telecommunication traffic)

[Conference Record] GLOBECOM '92 - Communications for Global Users: IEEE, 2003
Dynamical phenomena that adversely affect single-processor control systems have been reported. Queue lengths may show heavy oscillations due to so called traffic synchronization effects caused by an inappropriate priority scheme. A brief summary of these investigations is given.

A robust identification algorithm for traffic models in telecommunications

Proceedings of the 38th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.99CH36304), 2003
The goal of this paper is to present a robust identification algorithm for the parameters of autoregressive stochastic processes, and employ this in analyzing telecommunication traffic data, mainly video traffic in ATM networks.

Telecommunication traffic through submarine cables: Security and vulnerabilities

2016 11th International Conference for Internet Technology and Secured Transactions (ICITST), 2016
This paper highlight the idea of submarine cables and its security trends. At the beginning , history of cables and its development have been introduced. The main structure of fiber optic have been discussed as well. Finally, threats and vulnerabilities of submarine cable introduced in details and supported by examples from the world such as natural ...

Mathematical programs with complementarity constraints in traffic and telecommunications networks

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2008
Given a suitably parametrized family of equilibrium models and a higher level criterion by which to measure an equilibrium state, mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints (MPECs) provide a framework for improving or optimizing the equilibrium state.

Modelling Traffic Process in Telecommunication Networks

2000
Modelling traffic processes in telecommunications networks can be radically improved using generalised systems approach and contributions from traffic sciences and generic traffic theory. Paper consideres some of necessary theoretical background and methodological approach by which the traffic phenomenon can be systematically identified and formaly ...
