2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Ohmic contacts to 2D semiconductors through van der Waals bonding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
High contact resistances have blocked the progress of devices based on MX2 (M = Mo,W; X = S,Se,Te) 2D semiconductors. Interface states formed at MX2/metal contacts pin the Fermi level, leading to sizable Schottky barriers for p-type contacts in ...

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Solvent-Free Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nickel Tellurides with Various Stoichiometries: NiTe, NiTe2 and Ni2Te3

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
The paper reports the synthesis of nickel tellurides via a mechanochemical method from elemental precursors. NiTe, NiTe2, and Ni2Te3 were prepared by milling in stainless steel vials under nitrogen, using milling times from 1 h to 12 h. The products were

Phonon Spectra in the Parent Superconducting Iron-tuned Telluride Fe$_{1+x}$Te from Inelastic Neutron Scattering and Ab Initio Calculations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We report inelastic neutron scattering measurements of phonon spectra in the parent superconductor iron-tuned chalcogenide Fe$_{1+x}$Te, for two different x contents (x $\leq$ 0.11), using neutron time-of-flight technique.

Unlocking Multi‐Valley Energy Pockets and Interface‐Induced Phonon Filtering in InSb Thermoelectrics by Reaction‐Driven Interface Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
InSb, a narrow‐bandgap semiconductor with high carrier mobility, is promising for thermoelectric energy conversion but suffers from high lattice thermal conductivity and strong bipolar conduction. Here, in situ interface engineering using Co2O3 nanoprecursors forms hierarchical CoSbx/In2O3/CoSb3 heterostructures that enhance phonon scattering and ...

Pressured-induced superconducting phase with large upper critical field and concomitant enhancement of antiferromagnetic transition in EuTe2

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Here, the authors report pressure-induced superconductivity with concomitant enhancement of antiferromagnetic transition in layered EuTe2. The superconductivity is distinctly characterized by the high upper critical fields exceeding the Pauli limit among
