Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Temperature field simulation and ampacity optimisation of 500 kV HVDC cable

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
The temperature distribution of the submarine cable is an important parameter during the operation. In order to lift the efficiency of heat dissipation during the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cable thermal cycling test, this study presents a method

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Computer program MCAP-TOSS calculates steady-state fluid dynamics of coolant in parallel channels and temperature distribution in surrounding heat-generating solid [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Computer program calculates the steady state fluid distribution, temperature rise, and pressure drop of a coolant, the material temperature distribution of a heat generating solid, and the heat flux distributions at the fluid-solid interfaces.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Temperature profiles in microwave heated solid foods of slab geometry: Influence of process parameters

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2001
A simple 1-D mathematical model for prediction of local temperatures in a layer of solid material during microwave heating (Houšová et al. 1998) and a sensitivity analysis were used to evaluate the influence of process and material parameters on vertical

Temperature monitoring using Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) technology

open access: yesEnergy Procedia, 2014
AbstractThe applicability of Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) as a technology to monitor CO2 flow within CO2 injection zones at the inter-well scale, as well as to detect CO2 leakage into the overburden, is studied in this paper An onshore CO2 injection site in the U.S.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.
