Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Temperature profiles in microwave heated solid foods of slab geometry: Influence of process parameters

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2001
A simple 1-D mathematical model for prediction of local temperatures in a layer of solid material during microwave heating (Houšová et al. 1998) and a sensitivity analysis were used to evaluate the influence of process and material parameters on vertical

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Green Compact Temperature Evolution during Current-Activated Tip-Based Sintering (CATS) of Nickel

open access: yesMetals, 2013
Current-activated tip-based sintering (CATS) is a novel process where spark plasma sintering conditions are applied through an electrically conducting tip on a locally controlled area on a green powder compact/bed. The localization of electric current in

Temperature distribution in a slug [PDF]

open access: yes, 1952
Temperature variations in a slug create problems in stresses, corrosion, and design. As an acid in solving these problems for present and higher power levels, the temperature distribution and anticipated maximum temperatures have been calculated and are presented here.

Temperature and nitrogen supply interact to determine protein distribution gradients in the wheat grain endosperm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Gradients exist in the distribution of storage proteins in the wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) endosperm and determine the milling properties and protein recovery rate of the grain.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Measured Water Temperature Characteristics in a Pipeline Distribution System

open access: yes, 2006
YesThis paper describes the design, development, deployment and performance assessment of a prototype system for monitoring the 'health' of a water distribution network based on the temperature distribution and time-dependent variations in temperature ...

Behavioural and respiratory response of the shallow-water hermit crab Pagurus cuanensis to hydrostatic pressure and temperature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The evolutionary history of the Anomura has long been controversially discussed. One aspect that has received little attention is the dissimilarity in physiological tolerances of the related families Paguridae and Lithodidae to environmental conditions ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
