A temperature-drift balancer for calorimetry
The International Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1983Abstract Calorimeters used in radiation measurements often suffer from errors due to thermal drifts at positions of the heat sensors in a Wheatstone bridge. A simple resistance-capacitance circuit can be connected across a Wheatstone bridge in order to balance recorder pen drifts due to gradually changing temperature gradients that often occur in ...

Temperature drift instabilities in tokamak plasmas
Nuclear Fusion, 1976A collisional drift wave instability driven by electron temperature gradients is described which appears to predict the main features of the precursors of the internal disruptions observed in tokamaks, i.e. the calculated frequency and growth rate are in quantitative agreement with the observed ones, and the predicted profiles are, at least ...

Electrostatic temperature gradient drift instabilities
The Physics of Fluids, 1979The linear Vlasov dispersion relation for electrostatic instabilities driven by a cross-field current due to density and temperature gradients in a unidirectional magnetic field is examined in the local approximation. Both electrons and ions are taken as magnetized, and propagation is in the plane defined by the drift velocities and the magnetic field.

Temperature Effect in Zero-Point Drift
Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia, 1981The relationship between the observed magnitude of a star and the air-mass takes the shape of a loop. These loops are caused by the zero-point drift of the photometer in use and by the variations of the atmospheric extinction taking place during the observation (Kviz 1979).

Drift in high-temperature FBG sensors
SPIE Proceedings, 2010Fiber Bragg gratings are reported that are optimized for low wavelength drift, making them suitable for high- accuracy temperature measurements over extended periods of time. Our gratings show drift in the order of a few 10's of pm over 1,300 h at up to 650°C.

Three electrostatic temperature drift instabilities
Journal of Plasma Physics, 1981This paper considers temperature drift instabilities, modes which can be driven unstable solely by a temperature gradient perpendicular to a magnetic field. The linear electrostatic dispersion relation for a Vlasov plasma in a uniform magnetic field is used and propagation is assumed to be in the plane perpendicular to the gradient.

Temperature dependence and drift of a thermal accelerometer
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1998Abstract Silicon accelerometers are increasingly used in the automotive industry, but applications for 3D mice or so-called gesture-controlled remote controls are also feasible. For such applications, small, low-cost sensors are needed which not only meet certain requirements for sensitivity; working range or response time but can also work in a ...

Temperature drift mechanism of deflector jet servo valve under temperature shock
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, 2022To study the mechanism of the deflector jet servo valve under temperature shock, a complete temperature theoretical model is proposed in this article. The temperature change affects the performance change of the torque motor by affecting the drift of the air gaps’ thickness, the permanent magnets’ reluctance, and the magnetomotive polarization force ...

Correcting the MSU middle tropospheric temperature for diurnal drifts
IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003Channel 2 of the 9 Microwave Sounding Units (MSUs) flown on NOAA polar orbiting platforms provides a 23-year time series of middle-tropospheric temperature. These measurements may be of sufficient quality for climate studies if intersatellite calibration offsets and drifts can be accurately characterized and removed.

High Temperature CMOS Reliability and Drift
Additional Conferences (Device Packaging, HiTEC, HiTEN, and CICMT), 2010Quartzdyne precision pressure transducers are required to continuously operate at 200°C for more than 5 years (>1 year at 225°C). Future electronics are targeted for 250°C operation. The current transducer electronics are based on 3 custom ASICs; an Oscillator, Voltage Regulator and a Frequency counter.
