Horizontal Distribution of Temperature Effect in Rubberized Concrete Pavement: A Case Study
Temperature distribution and the deformation behavior under temperature are important parameters in the design and evaluation of concrete pavements. In this paper, in order to study the horizontal distribution of the temperature effect on rubberized ...

The Electron Temperature Gradient in the Galactic Disk [PDF]
We derive the electron temperature gradient in the Galactic disk using a sample of HII regions that spans Galactocentric distances 0--17 kpc. The electron temperature was calculated using high precision radio recombination line and continuum observations

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

The fully kinetic Biermann battery and associated generation of pressure anisotropy
The dynamical evolution of a fully kinetic, collisionless system with imposed background density and temperature gradients is investigated analytically.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Selection of Ceiling Fans for the Microclimate System of Livestock Facilities
A literature review revealed that the distribution of air flows and indoor temperatures is influenced by several key factors; including building design; external climatic conditions; internal heat sources; and ventilation system operation.

Effect of XLPE/EPDM Interface on Space Charge Behavior in Cable Accessory
Space charges accumulate easily at insulation interface of cable accessories, which cause different electric field distribution and aging characteristics compared to single-layered cable.

Far-from-equilibrium growth of thin films in a temperature gradient
The irreversible growth of thin films under far-from-equilibrium conditions is studied in $(2+1)-$dimensional strip geometries. Across one of the transverse directions, a temperature gradient is applied by thermal baths at fixed temperatures between $T_1$

On the inversion of the density gradient at the fringe of the convection zone [PDF]
Introduction. It is well known that the total pressure and the temperature increase as one goes inward from the surface to the center of a star. That the density, on the other hand, does not necessarily increase with depth below the surface was pointed ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
