Experimental and numerical study on the influence of critical 3D printing processing parameters

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2019
In the present work the temperature profile variations generated in rectangular specimens built using the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) process, at different printing speeds and orientations, were investigated.

Radial Temperature Profiles of 11 Clusters of Galaxies Observed With BeppoSAX

open access: yes, 2000
We have derived azimuthally-averaged radial temperature profiles of the X-ray gas contained within 11 clusters of galaxies with redshift z=0.03-0.2 with BeppoSAX.

Horizontal Structures of Velocity and Temperature Boundary Layers in 2D Numerical Turbulent Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard Convection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We investigate the structures of the near-plate velocity and temperature profiles at different horizontal positions along the conducting bottom (and top) plate of a Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard convection cell, using two-dimensional (2D) numerical data obtained ...

Effects of Forest Canopy Vertical Stratification on the Estimation of Gross Primary Production by Remote Sensing

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Gross primary production (GPP) in forests is the most important carbon flux in terrestrial ecosystems. Forest ecosystems with high leaf area index (LAI) values have diverse species or complex forest structures with vertical stratifications that influence

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Frequency Channel Selection and Performance Simulation of a Microwave Radiometer for Temperature and Sulfuric Compound Profiling of the Venusian Lower Atmosphere

open access: yesEarth and Space Science
Exploring the Venusian lower atmosphere is crucial for studying the atmospheric circulation, surface‐atmosphere interactions, and origin and evolution of the Venusian atmosphere and climate. In this study, we investigate the theoretical capabilities of a

TEMPERATURE DEFORMATIONS OF PVC WINDOW PROFILES WITH REINFORCEMENT

open access: yesInternational Journal for Computational Civil and Structural Engineering, 2022
Modern window structures made of PVC profiles can experience significant temperature deformation during both winter and summer operation. This effect is not considered in the current engineering methods of PVC windows calculation, which causes a number ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Radial molecular abundances and gas cooling in starless cores

open access: yes, 2012
Aims: We aim to simulate radial profiles of molecular abundances and the gas temperature in cold and heavily shielded starless cores by combining chemical and radiative transfer models.
