Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Microstability analysis of pellet fuelled discharges in MAST

open access: yes, 2014
Reactor grade plasmas are likely to be fuelled by pellet injection. This technique transiently perturbs the profiles, driving the density profile hollow and flattening the edge temperature profile.

New developments with the INSU/Météo VHF radar at CNRM/Toulouse — RASS, FDI and upgraded processing techniques

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 1998
The goal of this contribution is to present the latest developments performed with the VHF wind profiler at the Centre National de Recherches Météorologiques (CNRM) in Toulouse. The current work includes a radio acoustic sounding system (RASS) capability

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Degradation of road tested automotive connectors

open access: yes, 2000
The automotive environment is particularly demanding on connector performance, and is characterized by large temperature changes, high humidity and corrosive atmospheres.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Ocean Temperature Profiling Lidar: Analysis of Technology and Potential for Rapid Ocean Observations

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Development of ocean measurement technologies can improve monitoring of the global Ocean Heat Content (OHC) and Heat Storage Rate (HSR) that serve as early-warning indices for climate-critical circulation processes such as the Atlantic Meridional ...

Temperature profiles with bi-static Doppler-RASS and their correction [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2012
The technique of atmospheric temperature profiling by Doppler-RASS is discussed. The set up with bi-static (separated transmit and receiving) antennas implies a range dependent scattering angle.

Heat transfer model verification for thermal monitoring system of integral bridges

open access: yesActa Polytechnica CTU Proceedings, 2022
Thermal actions considered on abutments of integral bridges by the European standard (Eurocode 1) might be in variety of certain situations underestimated. Based on this assumption, thermal monitoring system has been designed and installed into structure

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
