Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Doping patterns in N-type high temperature superconductors PLCCO and NCCO

open access: yes, 2009
It has been demonstrated that the correlation between the doping distance and the critical transition temperature Tc for P-type HTSCs also applies to double doped N-type HTSCs.

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

PDST:Protein Drug Stability Tuner a web server to improve the stability of protein drug

open access: yes, 2009
[[abstract]]The drug stability include half life and ADME are the important factors that influence the drug efficacy. However, the resource of a number of drugs are come from proteins or peptides, which can be modified and reconstituted for every purpose.
