Numerical Analysis on Thermal and Flow Performance of Honeycomb-Structured Microchannel Cooling Plate for IGBT

open access: yesEnergies
In high-power insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) module thermal management, the structural design of microchannel cooling plates plays a crucial role in determining heat dissipation efficiency and temperature uniformity.

Concentration inequalities for random fields via coupling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a new and simple approach to concentration inequalities for functions around their expectation with respect to non-product measures, i.e., for dependent random variables.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Optimization of Synthetic Jet Position for Heat Transfer Enhancement and Temperature Uniformity of a Heated Wall in Micro-Channels

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2019
In this study, the synthetic jet position was optimized to obtain the maximum rate of heat transfer and the best state of temperature uniformity on a heated surface in micro-channels.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Effect of Coolant Inlet Mode on Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Twin-web Turbine Disc Cavity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
Twin-web turbine discs have been the subject of recent research in an effort to lighten the weight of and boost the efficiency of aero engines. This has motivated researchers to investigate other configurations for an expanded blade air supply and twin ...

Characterization of thermally treated PECVD SiON layers. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
PECVD Silicon Oxynitride (SiON) layers with different refractive indices (1.472-1.635) were grown and characterized. The as-deposited layers have good thickness uniformity (~1%) and a high homogeneity of the refractive index (~ 5x10-4) over the wafer ...

One-dimensional continuum and exciton states in quantum wires

open access: yes, 2002
High-quality T-shaped quantum wires are fabricated by cleaved-edge overgrowth with the molecular beam epitaxy on the interface improved by a growth-interrupt high-temperature anneal. Characterization by micro-photoluminescence (PL) and PL excitation (PLE)
