Near Incompressibility at Uniform Temperature or Entropy in Isotropic Thermoelasticity

Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids, 1998
This article is concerned with longitudinal wave propagation in an isotropic thermoelastic material that is nearly incompressible at either uniform temperature or uniform entropy. A dimensionless effective bulk modulus X is defined such that X-+ oo corresponds to incompressibility at uniform temperature.

Metamaterial Thermoelectric Generation under Uniform Temperature Environment

Proceedings of the 2022 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim, 2022
We propose a thermoelectric device that can produce a thermal gradient even in a uniform-temperature environment.

Rapid annealing of GaAs: Uniformity and temperature dependence of activation

Journal of Applied Physics, 1985
Scanning microwave photoconductance, capacitance-voltage profiling, and Hall effect measurements were used to investigate the uniformity of activation of Si-, Be-, and Mg-implanted 2- and 3-in.-diam, semi-insulating GaAs substrates after rapid thermal annealing in a commerical furnace.

Temperature uniformity during hyperthermia: the impact of large vessels

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 1992
During hyperthermia the presence of a large vessel entering the heated volume and carrying blood at the systemic temperature can be an important source of temperature non-uniformity and possible underdosage. The minimal tumour temperature near a large vessel is determined by the vessel wall temperature: a number of factors influencing the vessel wall ...

Designing flow and temperature uniformities in parallel microchannels reactor

AIChE Journal, 2014
A design methodology is proposed to maintain gas and liquid flow nonuniformities below an acceptable limit in a parallel micro/millichannels reactor by determining the maximum allowed temperature deviation in each part of the reactor. The effect of temperature deviation on flow distribution was quantified using a hydraulic resistive network model.

A model of a uniform-temperature thermionic generator

Journal of Applied Physics, 1980
A system generating electromotive force in isothermic conditions has been described. The effect appears against the background of thermionic emission obtained from a couple of electrodes working in a magnetic field.

A design of furnace for very uniform temperatures

Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1967
A tubular furnace containing five independently heated cylindrical metal blocks placed end-to-end is used to provide a very uniform temperature distribution over most of the length of the central block. A furnace with a heated length of 65 cm used for the comparison of thermocouples with a standard resistance thermometer at 630.5°C can be adjusted to ...

Temperature Uniformity in Heating-Up Processes

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1946
Abstract The treatment of temperature-uniformity problems by the method first introduced by Paschkis is extended and enlarged. It is shown that uniformity calculations can be reduced to the solution of a simple trigonometric relation which can be readily solved and analyzed.

Temperature distributions in fins with uniform and non-uniform heat generation and non-uniform heat transfer coefficient

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1987
Abstract Temperature distributions in a straight fin of rectangular profile (or in a cylindrical fin) with uniform and non-uniform internal heat-generation characteristics and non-uniform heat transfer coefficients are derived analytically. The heat transfer coefficient is assumed to be a power function of the difference between the temperature of ...

Effect of non-uniform temperature field in viscosity measurement

Journal of Visualization, 2015
In viscosity measurement, temperature control is very important. In this research, the effects of temperature distribution in viscosity measurement are investigated. Vibrational viscometers are preferred in experiments over other types of viscometers due to their low cost, easy to use and effective continuous viscosity measurement capability.
