The measure of migratory flows between France and other countries; what if we also spoke of emigration?

open access: yesRevue Européenne des Migrations Internationales, 2016
The measure of migratory flows has always been a difficult and awkward task. During the last decades, the knowledge about immigration flows, and specially emigration flows, has been incomplete, making difficult any international comparison.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Temporally Regulated Plant-Nematode Gene Networks Implicate Metabolic Pathways

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2022
Root-knot nematodes (RKN) (Meloidogyne spp.) constantly communicate with their host to establish and maintain specialized feeding cells. They likely regulate this interaction by monitoring host biology.

Temporal arteritis [PDF]

open access: yesNeurology Clinical Practice, 2014
Temporal or giant cell arteritis is an inflammation of medium and small extracranial vessels that may result in ocular ischemia, an aortitis followed by aortic dissection and peripheral limb ischemia. It should be considered a medical emergency due to the seriousness of end organ damage, in particular visual symptoms.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
