Neuropsychological deficits in temporal lobe epilepsy: A comprehensive review

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology, 2014
Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is the most prevalent form of complex partial seizures with temporal lobe origin of electrical abnormality. Studies have shown that recurrent seizures affect all aspects of cognitive functioning, including memory, language ...

Neuroinflammation in GAD65 Antibody‐Associated Epilepsy Measured Using [18F]DPA‐714 PET/MRI

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The timing for initiating immunotherapy in patients with glutamic acid decarboxylase 65 (GAD65) antibody‐associated epilepsy is a challenge. We used the translocator protein radioligand [18F]DPA‐714 and PET to evaluate brain microglial activation.

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

Phase Change Material‐Driven Tunable Metasurface for Adaptive Terahertz Sensing and Communication in 6G Perceptive Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the benefits of metasurfaces made from functional materials, highlighting their ability to be adapted and improved for various high‐frequency applications, including communications and sensing. It first demonstrates the potential of these functional material‐based metasurfaces to advance the field of sub‐THz perceptive networks ...

Temporal lobe epilepsy with amygdala enlargement: a subtype of temporal lobe epilepsy

open access: yesBMC Neurology, 2014
BackgroundSome recent studies suggest that some imaging-negative temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) had significant amygdala enlargement (AE). Contradictory data were also reported in previous studies regarding the association between AE and TLE.

Spatiotemporal Plasma–Mediated Laser Fabrication of Ultrahigh‐Aspect‐Ratio Nanochannel Arrays for Vertical Perovskite Nanowire Semiconductor Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A spatiotemporal plasma–mediated laser processing approach is developed to fabricate ultrahigh–aspect ratio nanochannel arrays and corresponding perovskite nanowire arrays within transparent materials for optoelectronics devices. The laser‐fabricated nanochannels serve as templates for controlled perovskite infiltration and crystallization, enabling ...

The combination of brain tumours with different histological structure

open access: yesКубанский научный медицинский вестник, 2014
We report a case of meningioma in the left temporal lobe which was successfully treated in our clinic. Howewer, two years later the new tumor was grown in the same temporal lobe.
