Geometric phase for multidimensional manipulation of photonics spin Hall effect and helicity-dependent imaging

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2020
The spin Hall effect of light, associated with spin-orbit interactions, describes a transport phenomenon with optical spin-dependent splitting, leading to a plethora of applications such as sensing, imaging, and spin-controlled nanophotonics.

Ultrafast Dynamics of Spin Current and Electron Temperature in Spintronic Terahertz Emitters

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work quantifies optical‐pump‐induced THz transmission variations to reveal electron and lattice temperature dynamics and presents time‐resolved THz spectral maps for sub‐picosecond analysis. A 63 ± 8 fs time lag between THz emission and laser excitation is identified, serving as an intrinsic parameter limiting the upper frequency of spintronic THz

Towards a compact THz local oscillator based on a quantum cascade laser

open access: yes, 2010
Heterodyne spectroscopy of molecular rotational lines and atomic fine-structure lines is a powerful tool in astronomy and planetary research. One example is the OI fine-structure line at 4.7 THz.

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Time-resolved electronic capture in germanium doped with hydrogen-like impurity centers

open access: yes, 2012
The capture of free holes and electrons in germanium (Ge) doped by gallium (Ga) or antimony (Sb) has been studied by a time-resolved pump-probe experiment with the free-electron laser FELBE at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf.
