TERAHERTZ OSCILLATIONS IN InN GUNN DIODES WITH AN ACTIVE REGION LENGTH OF 1 μm AND WITH A GRADED GaInN LAYER [PDF]

open access: yesRadio Physics and Radio Astronomy, 2022
Subject and Purpose. The InN Gunn diode is known as the device capable of generating powerful oscillations atfrequencies above 300 GHz. A possible way for increasing both the microwave power and the cutoff frequency of the Gunn diode is to employ graded ...

Sub-terahertz and terahertz generation in long-wavelength quantum cascade lasers

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2019
Terahertz quantum cascade laser sources with intra-cavity non-linear frequency mixing are the first room-temperature electrically pumped monolithic semiconductor sources that operate in the 1.2–5.9 THz spectral range.

Employment of gradient metal-film output mirrors in terahertz discharge lasers [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2021
Subject and Purpose. The problem of output beam matching with the waveguide transmission line often arises when using terahertz lasers. The special quasi-optical devices that are used to combat the problem lead to radiation losses and additional material

Photon-Assisted Shot Noise in Graphene in the Terahertz Range [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
When subjected to electromagnetic radiation, the fluctuation of the electronic current across a quantum conductor increases. This additional noise, called photon-assisted shot noise, arises from the generation and subsequent partition of electron-hole pairs in the conductor.

Thermal Radiation from Carbon Nanotubes in the Terahertz Range [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2007
The thermal radiation from an isolated finite-length carbon nanotube (CNT) is theoretically investigated both in near- and far-field zones. The formation of the discrete spectrum in metallic CNTs in the terahertz range is demonstrated due to the reflection of strongly slowed-down surface-plasmon modes from CNT ends.

Properties of InxGa1−xN films in terahertz range

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2012
In this letter, we report the characterization of the refractive indices and complex conductivities of a set of GaN films with different carrier concentrations, InN film, and InxGa1−xN films with indium content varying from x = 0.07 to x = 0.14 grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition for frequencies ranging from 0.3 to 3 THz using terahertz ...

Dielectric behavior of CaCu_3Ti_4O_12 ceramics in the terahertz range

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
The dielectric properties of 1050 °C/12h sintered CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) ceramics have been investigated by using terahertz time domain spectroscopy in the frequency range of 0.2-1.6 THz at room temperature. When applying an external optical field, an obvious variation of dielectric constant was observed and reached up to 7%.
