High-temperature terahertz quantum-cascade lasers: design optimization and experimental results
Objectives. Terahertz quantum-cascade lasers (THz QCLs) are compact solid-state lasers pumped by electrical injection to generate radiation in the range from 1.2 to 5.4 THz.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Resonant scattering probes in the terahertz range [PDF]
We propose and demonstrate a novel near-field probe, resonant at terahertz (THz) frequencies. A conical metal tip, with length 50–1000 μm is fabricated directly to the surface of a semiconductor surface, acting as a radially-polarized THz source. High field confinement is seen at the apex of the probe.

Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.

Generation of spatiotemporally tailored terahertz wavepackets by nonlinear metasurfaces
While the terahertz range has become increasingly important for a wide range of applications, efficient sources with bespoke output characteristics are still lacking. Here, Keren-Zur et al.

High Charge Carrier Mobility in Non‐Conjugated 3D Covalent Organic Frameworks
A non‐conjugated 3D COF constructed via boronate ester linkages from tetraphenylene and pyrene‐based monomers is reported, which exhibits a high charge carrier mobility of 14 ± 1 cm2 V−1 s−1. ABSTRACT π‐Conjugation, π–π stacking, and long‐range order play a central role in determining charge transport efficiency in organic materials.

We introduce a molecular strategy to assemble one‐dimensional (1D) materials into two‐dimensional (2D) van der Waals metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Crystals of [FeX(pzX)(bpy)] (X = Cl, F) form anisotropic 2D layers that can be mechanically exfoliated into thin sheets.

ABSTRACT Microneedle arrays (MNAs) is a rapidly emerging technology with broad biomedical applications in drug delivery and biosensing. With sub‐millimeter dimensions and periodicity, MNAs possess geometries nearly ideal for biomedical devices operating within the terahertz (THz) spectral window.

Gate‐Tunable Floquet Weyl Photon Emission from Topological Dirac Semimetal Cd3As2
We report experimental demonstration of Floquet band engineering in a 3D Dirac semimetal. Circularly polarized light breaks the time reversal symmetry and transforms Cd3As2 into a Floquet–Weyl phase, splitting Dirac nodes into chirality‐opposite Weyl nodes with nonzero Berry curvature.
