Employment of gradient metal-film output mirrors in terahertz discharge lasers [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2021
Subject and Purpose. The problem of output beam matching with the waveguide transmission line often arises when using terahertz lasers. The special quasi-optical devices that are used to combat the problem lead to radiation losses and additional material

Terahertz electromagnetic fields (0.106 THz) do not induce manifest genomic damage in vitro. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Terahertz electromagnetic fields are non-ionizing electromagnetic fields in the frequency range from 0.1 to 10 THz. Potential applications of these electromagnetic fields include the whole body scanners, which currently apply millimeter waves just below ...

Time-Delay Multiplexing of Two Beams in a Terahertz Imaging Radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We demonstrate a time-delay multiplexing technique that doubles the frame rate of a 660–690-GHz imaging radar with minimal additional instrument complexity.

TERAHERTZ CLYNOOROTRON WITH AN AZIMUTHAL COMB [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2017
The results of theoretical and experimental studies of oro-trons – oscillators of diffraction radiation with spatially developed electrodynamic systems, electromagnetic oscillations in which are excited, as a rule, by nonrelativistic spatially developed ...

Properties of InxGa1−xN films in terahertz range

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2012
In this letter, we report the characterization of the refractive indices and complex conductivities of a set of GaN films with different carrier concentrations, InN film, and InxGa1−xN films with indium content varying from x = 0.07 to x = 0.14 grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition for frequencies ranging from 0.3 to 3 THz using terahertz ...

Dielectric behavior of CaCu_3Ti_4O_12 ceramics in the terahertz range

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
The dielectric properties of 1050 °C/12h sintered CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) ceramics have been investigated by using terahertz time domain spectroscopy in the frequency range of 0.2-1.6 THz at room temperature. When applying an external optical field, an obvious variation of dielectric constant was observed and reached up to 7%.

Electron transport and terahertz gain in quantum-dot cascades [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Electron transport through quantum-dot (QD) cascades was investigated using the formalism of nonequilibrium Green's functions within the self-consistent Born approximation.

Optical bistability of graphene in the terahertz range [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2014
We use an exact solution of the relaxation-time Boltzmann equation in a uniform AC electric field to describe the nonlinear optical response of graphene in the terahertz (THz). The cases of monolayer, bilayer and ABA-stacked trilayer graphene are considered, and the monolayer species is shown to be the most appropriate one to exploit the nonlinear free

Liquid Crystal-Tuned Planar Optics in Terahertz Range

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Recently, terahertz waves of higher frequencies compared to microwave and radio frequency have shown great potential in radar detection and high-speed wireless communication. To spatially control the wavefront of terahertz beams, various novel components,
