Employment of gradient metal-film output mirrors in terahertz discharge lasers [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2021
Subject and Purpose. The problem of output beam matching with the waveguide transmission line often arises when using terahertz lasers. The special quasi-optical devices that are used to combat the problem lead to radiation losses and additional material

Single-Mode Rib Waveguide for the Terahertz Range Using 3D Printed Alumina

open access: yes, 2023
In recent years, all-dielectric waveguides have emerged as a promising candidate platform for future integrated terahertz technologies. Inspired by optical photonics, many of these technologies are limited to planar waveguides and are reliant upon ...

Novel antenna-coupled terahertz photodetector with graphene nanoelectrodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Antenna-coupled photomixers, serving as emitters and receivers of terahertz (THz) radiation, are the central active components of coherent optoelectronic THz systems. Here, we focus on the continuous-wave modality, which finds ample use for spectroscopy,

Efficient organic terahertz generator with extremely broad terahertz molecular vibrational mode-free range

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2023
For nonlinear optical materials to be applicable as efficient broadband terahertz (THz) wave generators, low absorption with wide transparency in the THz frequency range is highly important. In this study, we report efficient organic THz wave generators,

Properties of InxGa1−xN films in terahertz range

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2012
In this letter, we report the characterization of the refractive indices and complex conductivities of a set of GaN films with different carrier concentrations, InN film, and InxGa1−xN films with indium content varying from x = 0.07 to x = 0.14 grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition for frequencies ranging from 0.3 to 3 THz using terahertz ...

Dynamic modeling of Terahertz Quantum cascade lasers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, the influence of the simplifications made in the four-equation-based set of rate equations describing the dynamic behavior of a Quantum Cascade Laser (QCL) is studied.

Broadband and efficient terahertz beam scanning using a 3D-printed Risley prism

open access: yes, 2022
We present a Risley prism beam-scanning system for terahertz waves. The scanning system consists of two 3Dprinted prisms made of cyclic olefin copolymer (COC), which is a low loss material at terahertz frequencies.

Dielectric behavior of CaCu_3Ti_4O_12 ceramics in the terahertz range

open access: yesOptics Express, 2011
The dielectric properties of 1050 °C/12h sintered CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) ceramics have been investigated by using terahertz time domain spectroscopy in the frequency range of 0.2-1.6 THz at room temperature. When applying an external optical field, an obvious variation of dielectric constant was observed and reached up to 7%.
