Purification of Terbium Isotopes for Applications in Nuclear Medicine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Nuclear medicine is used to diagnose and treat a number of disorders and diseases and is an essential part of a hospital’s clinical toolkit. Diagnostic nuclear medicine utilises radioactive isotopes which emit either gamma-rays or positrons.

The chemical separation of terbium for applications in nuclear medicine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
"This research aimed to develop robust and thorough chemical separation procedures to support the development of novel diagnostic, therapeutic and/or theranostic nuclear medicine using several terbium isotopes, 149Tb, 152Tb, 155Tb and 161Tb.

Preparation of long-lived terbium-157 and terbium-158 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry, 1960
A 5-mg sample of dysprosium oxide enriched to 13.8% in Dy/sup 156/ was irradiated with neutrons in the Materials Testing Reactor. The sample received an exposure of 2 x 10/sup 21/ neutrons/cm/sup 2/ over a three-month interval. Four months after irradiation, mass analysis was made of the unseparated sample.

Nonoxide Sol-Gel Synthesis of Terbium-Doped Silicon Nitride Phosphors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Exposure of solutions of Tb(N(SiMe3)2)3 with SiCl(NEt2)3 in tetrahydrofuran to dry ammonia results in polymeric xerogels. Heating these gels in ammonia leads to amorphous Tb:SiNx phosphors that exhibit bright green luminescence under UV irradiation.

Design, Isolation, and Spectroscopic Analysis of a Tetravalent Terbium Complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Synthetic strategies to yield molecular complexes of high-valent lanthanides, other than the ubiquitous Ce4+ ion, are exceptionally rare, and thorough, detailed characterization in these systems is limited by complex lifetime and reaction and isolation ...

Microstructure Control and Anti-counterfeiting Application of Bonded Terbium Polymer PMNTb Fluorescent Fibers

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao, 2021
Fluorescent fibers were constructed from self-made bonded terbium polymer by electrospinning. The microstructure of the fibers was tuned and the luminescent properties were investigated by adjusting the properties of polymer solution such as solvent ...

Production Cross-Section Measurements for Terbium Radionuclides of Medical Interest Produced in Tantalum Targets Irradiated by 0.3 to 1.7 GeV Protons and Corresponding Thick Target Yield Calculations

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2021
This work presents the production cross-sections of Ce, Tb and Dy radionuclides produced by 300 MeV to 1.7 GeV proton-induced spallation reactions in thin tantalum targets as well as the related Thick Target production Yield (TTY) values and ratios.

Detection of Aerobic Bacterial Endospores: From Air Sampling, Sterilization Validation to Astrobiology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Bacterial endospores are formed in genera such as Bacillus and Clostridium in times of incipient stresses. Derivative of their remarkable resistance and ubiquity, endospores are delivery vehicles for anthrax attack, biological indicators for checking ...
