Quasi-Cyclic Asymptotically Regular LDPC Codes [PDF]
Families of "asymptotically regular" LDPC block code ensembles can be formed by terminating (J,K)-regular protograph-based LDPC convolutional codes. By varying the termination length, we obtain a large selection of LDPC block code ensembles with varying code rates, minimum distance that grows linearly with block length, and capacity approaching ...

We present the cellular transcription‐coupled Flp‐nick system allowing the introduction of a Top1‐mimicking cleavage complex (Flpcc) at a Flp recognition target site within a controllable LacZ gene. LacZ transcription leads to the collision of RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) with Flpcc, and this causes RNAPII stalling, ubiquitination, and degradation.

Giant perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energies in CoPt thin films: Impact of reduced dimensionality and imperfections [PDF]
The impact of reduced dimensionality on the magnetic properties of the tetragonal L1$_{0}$ CoPt alloy is investigated from ab-initio considering several kinds of surface defects. By exploring the dependence of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy (MAE) on the thickness of CoPt thin films, we demonstrate the crucial role of the chemical nature of ...

End of Life Care: The Importance of Culture and Ethnicity [PDF]
Despite Australia's cultural diversity, there is little doubt that ethnic minority groups continue to have less access to health care systems, let alone culturally appropriate care, including palliative and end of life care.

Crosstalk between gut microbiota and tumor: tumors could cause gut dysbiosis and metabolic imbalance
In this research, we analyzed the relationship between gut microbiota and tumor. We discovered that both subcutaneous and metastatic tumors would alter the composition and metabolic function of gut microbiota. Meanwhile, fecal microbiota transplantation also indicated the anti‐tumor role of the gut microbiota, revealing the crosstalk between tumor and ...

Learning from PPO Investigations: End-of-Life Care [PDF]
With a large and ageing prison population, the Prison Service has to deal with more foreseeable deaths from terminal and incurable illnesses than ever before. This brings new challenges for both prison regimes and prison facilities to accommodate the end

MET variants in the N‐lobe of the kinase domain, found in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma, require ligand stimulation to promote cell transformation, in contrast to other RTK variants. This suggests that HGF expression in the microenvironment is important for tumor growth in such patients. Their sensitivity to MET inhibitors opens the way for
