BSDEs with weak terminal condition

open access: yes, 2014
We introduce a new class of Backward Stochastic Differential Equations in which the $T$-terminal value $Y_{T}$ of the solution $(Y,Z)$ is not fixed as a random variable, but only satisfies a weak constraint of the form $E[\Psi(Y_{T})]\ge m$, for some ...

Terminal value problem for a generalized fractional ordinary differential equation [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2020
The present work is concerned with the well‐posedness and efficient numerical algorithm for a terminal value problem with a generalized Caputo fractional derivative. We investigate the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the terminal value problem and consider the continuous dependence of the solutions on the given data.

Global search algorithm for optimal control [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Random-search algorithm employs local and global properties to solve two-point boundary value problem in Pontryagin maximum principle for either fixed or variable end-time problems. Mixed boundary value problem is transformed to an initial value problem.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Terminal value problem for causal differential equations with a Caputofractional derivative

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS, 2017
Summary: In this paper, we give new definitions and obtain the unique solution of a fractional causal terminal value problem by combining the technique of generalized quasilinearization in the sense of upper and lower solutions.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Optimization of ship traffic at berthing areas of maritime container terminals via Simulation Experiment

open access: yesLogistics Research, 2019
Maritime transportation plays a leading role in the movement and minimization of transportation costs of goods between regions. One of the major challenges faced by port managers/operators is the growing number of containers or ship traffic which can ...

An exponential turnpike theorem for dissipative discrete time optimal control problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
revised 2013, 23 p.International audienceWe investigate the exponential turnpike property for nite horizon undercounted discrete time optimal control problems without any terminal constraints. Considering a class of strictly dissipative systems we derive

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...
