Muscle‐Derived Small Extracellular Vesicles Mediate Exercise‐Induced Cognitive Protection in Chronic Cerebral Hypoperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
sEVs have a critical role in orchestrating interorgan crosstalk and mediating exercise‐induced therapeutic effects. Lin et al. demonstrates that sEVs miR‐17/20a‐5p mediates the muscle‐brain crosstalk and emphasizes the central role of mTOR signaling in executing molecular programs that can protect brain health in response to exercise. Deciphering Auditory Hyperexcitability in Otogl Mutant Mice Unravels an Auditory Neuropathy Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By investigating auditory hyperexcitability in a mouse model for hereditary deafness, this study identified a subpopulation of afferent neurons of the auditory nerve marked by Otogl expression. Despite their apparently normal hearing, Otogl+/− mice display poor activation of afferent neurons processing loud sounds and an elevation of the middle the ear

PRMT1 Ablation in Endothelial Cells Causes Endothelial Dysfunction and Aggravates COPD Attributable to Dysregulated NF‐κB Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the role of protein arginine methyltransferase 1 (PRMT1) in endothelial cells (ECs) in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Mice with endothelial‐specific PRMT1 deletion develop pulmonary hemorrhage, inflammation, and apoptosis, driven by excessive nuclear factor kappa B activation.
